&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Nettie Jean Street of North Platte, Nebraska died on June 23, 2021 at Bryan Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 90. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Nettie Jean was born in Fairmont, Nebraska to Velmont and Gladys Clark on January 1, 1931 and grew up in North Platte, Nebraska.&nbsp; She married Samie Street in the early 1960's and to this union her only child, Darr, was born.&nbsp; The couple later divorced. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;At the age of 4, Nettie Jean's dance career began when she took an acrobatics class to improve her lungs.&nbsp; This led to tap and ballet classes, which she mastered, and eventually the student became the teacher.&nbsp; In 1947, when she was 16 years old, she opened Nettie Jean's Dance Studio in a one-car garage and years later it grew to a full-sized studio on East 5th Street in North Platte. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Nettie Jean went on to teach various types of dance and tumbling to thousands of children in the North Platte area for more than half a century.&nbsp; She conducted clinics in surrounding communities, and also helped choreograph high school musicals, shows at the Fox Theater, and the Frontier Revue.&nbsp; She strived to keep up with the times and changes in dance by attending workshops, conventions, and even traveled to Hawaii to learn native dances in the 1970's. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Many of Nettie Jean's former students have received awards at the local, regional and national level, and some have gone on to perform or work with prestigious dance companies from New York to California.&nbsp; Saying Nettie Jean loved dance and loved teaching dance would be an understatement; she brought out the best in her students and had the ability to teach anyone. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;As the years went by, Nettie Jean felt she was the best teacher even though, "The chassis may be falling apart, the interior is great!"&nbsp; Along with teaching, Nettie Jean worked in the Lawn &amp; Garden Department at Walmart for a number of years. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;She was preceded in death by her parents, V.E. and Gladys Clark. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;

Ella Mae (Scofield) McIntosh, age 87, of Broken Bow, Nebraska passed away June 25th, 2021, at Brookestone View in Broken Bow.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Ella Mae was born northeast of Burwell, Nebraska in Garfield County on February 16, 1934, to Earl and Katie (Bartos) Scofield. She grew up on a farm helping with all the chores, milking cows, and harvesting crops. Ella Mae attended grade school in Garfield County, Nebraska.

She was united in marriage to Ralph McIntosh on August 10th, 1952. To this union 2 children were born: son, Lonnie, and daughter, Connie. Ralph &amp; Ella Mae worked together on ranches. Ella Mae cooked for the hired men and haying crews.

Ella Mae and Ralph moved their family to Broken Bow, Nebraska in February of 1968. Ella worked at B-D for 24.5 years before retiring.

She loved having family around and visiting with friends and neighbors. Ella Mae’s hobbies were collecting Salt &amp; Pepper shakers, she was a huge fan of John Wayne, crocheting, cross stitching, camping, and playing cards. Grandma Mac would always play Kings Corner with the grandkids.

Ella Mae is survived by her husband, Ralph, of almost 69 years; son Lonnie McIntosh (Nina) of Grand Island, NE; daughter Connie (Bill) Lentz of Ainsworth, NE; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; three brothers Mervin (Glayda) Scofield of David City, NE, Kenneth(Kim)Scofield of Oceanside, CA, and Ronnie(Susan) Scofield of Verdigre, NE; and other brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, and many nephews and nieces, cousins and friends.

Ella Mae is preceded in death by her parents Earl &amp; Katie Scofield; brothers Harold and Orin Scofield; sisters Catherine "Kate" Ritter and Vernie Clark.

Tyler Jon Friesen, age 45, of Lewellen, Nebraska passed away unexpectedly on June 23, 2020. Even though he was taken from us too soon, his smile and love of life will live on through all who knew and loved him.

Tyler was born September 17, 1975 to Bob Friesen and Sandra (Schindler) Friesen.&nbsp; He loved cheeseburgers, sports (especially the Broncos and the Rockies), music, Diet Pepsi, and spending time with family and friends.&nbsp; His hugs and dance moves were legendary. If you met Tyler, he was your buddy and once he knew you, he would never forget you.

Tyler is survived by his dad, Bob Friesen; sister, Robin Friesen-Holwell (Kirk); stepmom Lorie Friesen; niece and nephew Macy and Colton Gruszczynski; aunts and uncles Dale Friesen (Sharyl), Ron Schindler (Jan), Deb Kucera (Jess).&nbsp;

James Lynn Trail, age 70, of McCook, Nebraska passed away peacefully at his home in McCook on June 2, 2021.&nbsp;

Jim was born January 18, 1951, in McCook to his parents, Rollin and Elynnor (Hoyt) Trail.&nbsp; He was the youngest of five children.&nbsp; He attended school in McCook, graduating from McCook High School in 1969.&nbsp; He also attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.&nbsp; He was a member of the local Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for many years.

Jim worked on his family farm for most of his life.&nbsp; He was a fisherman and an avid hunter who enjoyed hunting deer, doves, ducks and coyotes.&nbsp; He was also a pilot who flew spray planes as well as Super Cubs. &nbsp;Jim enjoyed restoring aircraft and was a member of the Vintage Aircraft Association. &nbsp;He held both a commercial and mechanic pilot’s license for many years.&nbsp; He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, learning about his family history, racing stock cars, and watching classic westerns.&nbsp;

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren.

He married Virginia Trail on September 6, 1972 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and they had four children: &nbsp;Elynnor and husband Alefgul Shukorzai of Beijing, China, Elisabeth and husband Christian George of Scottsdale, Arizona, Suzanne Trail of San Ramon, California, and Caleb and Joy Trail of McCook, Nebraska.

His older surviving siblings include Marylin Newcomb, Chuck Trail (and wife Dian) of McCook, Nebraska, Judi (and husband Dan) Johnson of Lacombe, Louisiana, and Jack Trail (and wife Norma) of Paducah, Texas.&nbsp; He leaves behind numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members. &nbsp;

A memorial service will be held on Saturday,&nbsp;July 3, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Stone Church in Culbertson, Nebraska.

Trina was born January 10, 1969, in Denver, Colorado to Harold and Arleta (Staley) Allen. After High School Trina study nursing and Criminal Law. She worked at McConaughy’s and helped families reunite with children for three years.

On September 9, 2016, she was united in marriage to Heather Davis in North Platte, NE. The couple made their home in Missouri for a year, then moving back to Nebraska. Trina worked at the Smoke Shack for the past year. Trina enjoyed crafting, computer games, sewing, making blankets, and attending church.

Trina is survived by her wife Heather of Broken Bow, children Donamick Buss, Beth Buss, Lucas Buss, Nicholas Michael Davis, grandchild Alayna Faye Davis, brother, Greg Allen of Arnold, and seven nieces and nephews, Dakota, Brittania, Brooklynn, Geoffery, Gillian, Gwendolen, and Brenden.

Kim A. Wiemers, 67, of McCook, NE passed away at his home near McCook on June 21, 2021. Kim was born on November 28, 1953 in Fairbury, NE to H. Duane and Shirley (Ross) Wiemers. He grew up in Concordia, KS and moved to McCook, NE where he later graduated from McCook High School in 1972. He left for the Marine Corps where he rose to the rank of Sergeant and served from 1972-1975.&nbsp; Kim also served as a Staff Sergeant in the Army Reserve from 1976 to the time if his retirement in 1995.&nbsp;

On November 10, 1972 he was married to Jan (Helberg) Wiemers in Oberlin, KS. The couple first settled at Camp Lejeune, NC while stationed in the Marine Corps.&nbsp; The family moved back to Nebraska in 1975 where Kim was employed by Hastings Utilities, and he attended Central Technical Community College in Hastings and received a Construction Technology Certificate in 1978. They eventually made their home in McCook where Kim was employed by the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad as a conductor/brakeman from 1978-2013, retiring after a 35-year tenure. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and carpentry.

Kim was preceded in death by his father, H. Duane Wiemers and his mother, Shirley (Ross) Wiemers.

He is remembered by his sons, Alan and Christi Wiemers of Riverdale, NE and Brian and Anne Wiemers of McCook, NE. His grandchildren include Paige Wiemers, Christian Wiemers, Kylie Wiemers, and Ryan Wiemers (Alan’s kids), and Derek Metzger, Dania Wiemers, Shannon Wiemers, and Ross Wiemers (Brian’s kids). He leaves behind eight great-grandchildren: Evan Slagle, Woodson Durand, Alexander Durand, Anna Garcia, and Havana Martinez. His sisters include Carol and Stephen Fox, Karen and E.J. Walla, and Cathy and Don Knorr. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Ciarah Chae Schollmeyer, age 10, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away June 24, 2021 at Great Plains Health. She was born August 6, 2010 in Holdrege, Nebraska to Kelly Schollmeyer and Almyra Marrow.

Ciarah attended Lincoln Elementary School and was going to be a 5th grader in the fall. She touched the lives of many people in her short life. Ciarah was a music fan and enjoyed all types of music. She was always singing.

Ciarah has a poem that was published in the American Library of Poetry. She was very intelligent and had been nominated to participate in the STEM Program in Colorado this summer.

Survivors include her mother, Almyra (fiancé Steaven Nolda) Schollmeyer of North Platte, NE; father, Kelly Schollmeyer of North Platte, NE; two brothers, Brayden and Malachi Schollmeyer of North Platte, NE; grandparents, Martha and Danny Hallmark of Wake Forest, NC, Robert and Carmen Linder of Holdredge, NE, Henry and Val Morrow of Dighton, KS, Natalie Creel of Omaha, NE, Hank and Amy Schollmeyer of Fremont, NE; great-grandmother, Ruby Schwartz of Holdredge, NE; and numerous other family members and many friends.

She was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Glendale Linder Sr., Clair and Vinaray Rokusek, Floyd and Martha Houser, Donald and Margie Pool, Wayne and Helen Schollmeyer.

Ciarah Chae Schollmeyer  (2010-2021)

On Wednesday, June 23, 2021 Darlene went to walk with Jesus. She went with faith and without fear, with her husband, Lynn, at her side.

Darlene was born July 31, 1932, in Ainsworth, NE to Robert and Martina Schroeder. She attended country school at Kewanee until 7th&nbsp;grade then moved into Valentine, NE where she graduated from high school in 1949.

While she was in her sophomore year, Darlene was introduced to Lynn Schaefer, a friend of her parents. Darlene converted to Catholicism and the two married in the Catholic Church on October 28, 1950.

The first test of their marriage came in 1952 when Lynn enlisted in the U.S. Army. For the two years that he was stationed in Germany, Darlene stayed at home with her parents and worked at Flynn Rexall Drugstore.

When Lynn returned home, the couple moved to Martin, SD where they operated the OK Court Motel and Drive Inn owned by Darlene’s parents. They lived there until late 1954 when they moved back to Valentine and Darlene gave birth to their first daughter, Suzanne. The two went on to have three more children, Bob, Reggie, and Denise. &nbsp;

Darlene’s priority was always her family which is why she was a stay-at-home mom until 1967. While her children were growing up, Darlene served as room mother in their classrooms, organized class activities, made many of their clothes by hand and always made sure the children were happy and healthy.

In 1967, Darlene went to work at the County Assessor’s Office where she stayed for eight years. She also worked part-time as bailiff for the Clerk of District Court.

Second only to her devotion to her family, was Darlene’s selfless service to her community. She served as president of the Altar Society for many years and was a proud member of the VFW Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary, and regularly volunteered at the Valentine Senior Citizens Center.

Darlene is survived her husband, Lynn, children, Suzanne (Don) Baker, Bob (Jane) Schaefer, Reggie Bennett, Denise (Ralph) Simons, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert, sister Norma Jean, and grandson David.

Mass of Christian Burial for Darlene Schaefer, age 88, of Valentine, Nebraska will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 29th&nbsp;at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Valentine.&nbsp; Rosary will be recited on Monday, June 28th&nbsp;at 7:00 PM at the church.&nbsp; Visitation will be on Monday at 5:00 PM until rosary time at Sandoz Chapel of the Pines in Valentine.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Darlene Schaefer  (1932-2021)

Darrel Richard Fellows (Dick), age 78, passed away on the 13th of October 2020 while living at Cambridge Court Assisted Living in Mesquite, Texas. Darrel passed away of natural causes related to failing health conditions.

Darrel was born the 28th of August 1942 in Basin, Wyoming to Darrel Clayton (Red) and Arlene Joy (Drake) Fellows. He grew up with his siblings in Cozad, Nebraska. There, they enjoyed many family gatherings with the Kirkpatrick, Thompson and Carpenter families. The Fellows have a rich history dated back to 1900 when Darrel’s grandparents Thomas Nicholson and Grace May (Nichols) Fellows were married in Eustis Village, Nebraska, south of Cozad. The Fellows’ family cemetery plots are located just south of Cozad, Nebraska at Fairview Cemetery.

Darrel’s Siblings are, Patricia Arlene (Ballard) married to William Robert France (2018) of Lexington, Nebraska, Beverly June (2011) married to Donald Dean (Pal) Carpenter (1993) of Baytown, Texas, Sandra Gay (2018) married to Lawrence Edward Tappan (2014) of Arizona City, Arizona, Sharron Kay married to Frank Joseph Nejedly (2006) of North Platte, Nebraska, Kevin Drake married to Vicki Lynn (Klee) of Etoile, Texas, and Joel Timothy (2016) of King Wood, Texas divorced from Susan Lee (Sharrock) of Wasilla, Alaska.

Darrel married Mary Ruth (Blankinship) 27 January 1962 in Kansas City, Missouri.

He was a stubborn, independent thinker and never finished high school but later completed his GED while in the military. He started his life journey early as a ranch hand then later at the age of 19, joined the United States Army (1961 – 1964) and began a family with Mary. After his military service the couple moved to Jerico Springs, Missouri just north east of Lamar where they bought and worked a farm for a few years near Mary’s parent’s farm. The couple moved back to Kansas City where Darrel worked as a butcher in a beef packing plant. While Darrel was deciding what path to take in his career, he moved the family to various other communities until finally settling in Callaway, Nebraska in 1970. There the couple raised three children into adults then moved to Brady, Nebraska in 1990.

In the early 1970’s Darrel began learning to drive semi-trucks and drove for Romans Motor Freight and later for Hilt Truck lines as an owner operator. In the late 70’s Mary joined Darrel as a team driver and for the next 16 years they traveled coast to coast driving for Shaffer trucking and Crete Carriers. In 1995 the couple retired from trucking then purchased Brady Get-n-Go convenience store where they enjoyed the patronage of Brady residents for the next 17 years. In 2012 the couple sold the store and permanently retired.

Darrel has been an active member of the American Legion since 1976. He enjoyed riding horses in his early years and then in retirement he enjoyed wood carving with his best friend Gary (Carol) Bell of Brady, Nebraska.

Survivors include his son, Timothy R. (Connie) Fellows of Mesquite, Texas; daughter, Arlena M. Mannila of Fountain Hills, Arizona; sister, Patricia A. France of Kearney, Nebraska; sister, Sharron K. Nejedly of North Platte, Nebraska; brother, Kevin D. (Vicki) Fellows of Etoile, Texas; granddaughter, Chelsie N. (George) Septer of Waukesha, Wisconsin; grandsons, D.J. Mannila of Fountain Hills, Arizona; Cody J. (Erica) Fellows of Vancouver, Washington; Tanner J. (Kathy) Fellows of Joshua, Texas: great granddaughter, Dallas N. Fellows of Vancouver, Washington; great grandson Hudson J. Fellows of Vancouver, Washington and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Ruth Fellows (2014); daughter, Michelle A. Hagemeister (1989); sisters, Beverly June Carpenter (2011), Sandra Gay Tappan (2018); and brother, Joel Timothy Fellows (2016).

Joyce Eileen McConahay passed away November 2, 2020, at the age of 92. Joyce was born July 3, 1928 in Hastings, Nebraska to Lavern and Lillie (Breault) Duncan.

Joyce graduated from St. Patrick’s Catholic High School in North Platte, Nebraska&nbsp; in 1946. She worked at Dryden’s Drug Store.

Joyce married Milton (Mac) McConahay on November 15, 1947 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. The couple lived in Hastings, Nebraska while Milton finished school. They moved back to North Platte, Nebraska where they raised four children, Deb (Terry) Kruse, Mack (Pat) McConahay, Lynn (Randy) Kuhlmann, and Lee (Joyce) McConahay.

Joyce will be remembered for being an impeccable seamstress, for creating storybook holidays for her family and for having a giving heart. This was apparent in her commitment to and support of her family and dedication to the community she lived in. Through the years, Joyce gave of her time to the Food Pantry, Altar Society, and Meals on Wheels. She was a Cub Scout leader for Pack 292, made rosaries to send to Haiti, helped start the Coat Closet, collected quilts and blankets for the poor, and volunteered in the school cafeteria at St. Patrick’s Catholic Schools.

Joyce’s declaration of her Faith in God and her example of the importance and power of prayer is her greatest legacy. This is the most prominent gift that she has given to her four children, 10 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Lillie and Lavern Duncan; brother, Dale Duncan; husband Milton; grandson, Brady Kruse.

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Carolyn Mae Matsutani, age 63, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2021 in Kapolei, Hawaii while awaiting a liver transplant. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Carolyn, the youngest of four children, was born on August 12, 1957 in North Platte, Nebraska to Ruth Nakagawa Matsutani and Masaharu Matsutani.&nbsp; She grew up on a dairy farm in Hershey, Nebraska and graduated from Hershey High School in 1975.&nbsp; While growing up in Hershey, she was active in 4.H throughout junior high and high school.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Carolyn loved to cook and sew like her mother and her Aunt Taki, and she was the first Nebraska Japanese-American to win the Nebraska "Make it With Wool" contest and go on to compete in this category nationally. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;She later attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and graduated with a degree in fashion merchandising in 1979.&nbsp; After graduation from college, Carolyn worked at JL Brandeis and Younkers as a fashion merchandiser.&nbsp; She later worked for Galyan's in Indiana in the HR Department.&nbsp; Since 2005, Carolyn worked in Hawaii as the HR Director for the YMCA of Honolulu. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth &amp; Masa Matsutani; her grandparents; and several aunts and uncles. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Carolyn leaves behind her sisters, Barbara Spettel &amp; husband Tom of Henderson, Colorado and Norma Romero of North Platte, Nebraska; brother, Kent Matsutani &amp; wife Mary of Fort Collins, Colorado; nieces Genny McNeel, Rebecca Romero, and Jocelyn Matsutani; nephew, John Matsutani; aunt, Helen Budzinski of Seattle, Washington; and many cousins and friends. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;A Memorial Service was held in Hawaii.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Oahu Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;An interment service will be held at the Episcopal Church in North Platte, Nebraska on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a noon luncheon.

Laddie Doak Olson  (1929-2021)

Richard John “Dick” Sedlacek left this earth and joined his Heavenly Father on June 23, 2021.

He was born on Oct. 20, 1930, in Crete, Nebraska in a home he playfully referred to as “The Shrine.” The family, father, John, mother, Louise, and two younger brothers, William and Glenn, moved to Clatonia when Dick was 15 years old. This is where he met the love of his life and his soulmate, Patty Joy “Pat” Kindschi. They were high school sweethearts and married in June 1952. They recently celebrated 69 years of marriage.

Dick attended Doane College, graduating in 1952 with a degree in education. It was at Doane that he performed in the Hill Top Four barbershop quartet. They performed at Nebraska high schools recruiting students for Doane.

Dick was drafted into the U.S. Army in September 1952 and was assigned to Camp Chaffee, Arkansas, for basic training. He was then transferred to Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma. Pat joined him there, where they lived until Dick was honorably discharged in 1954. Dick and Pat then moved back to Crete where Dick began his career in education by teaching English at Crete Senior High School. He continued his education by completing a Master in Administration degree, and he became principal at Crete Junior High. Shortly thereafter, he became principal at Crete Senior High.

In 1956, Dick became a father to Douglas Richard. Two years later daughter Chery Ann was born. In 1965, Dick and family moved to North Platte, Nebraska where he became principal of North Platte Senior High School. He was principal there until 1989. He spent 35 years in education. To say he loved being a principal is an understatement. It was his passion, and it defined him. During his time as principal, he belonged to the Nebraska State Education Association, NEA, Nebraska Governor’s Task Force on Excellence in Education, Honorary Life Member of the PTA, the National Association of Secondary School Principals, and the Nebraska State Association of Secondary School Principals.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Elks, American Legion, Nebraska Schoolmasters and a 53-year member of the Noon Rotary Club, where he was the oldest member. He and Pat were co-chairs of the 1983 United Way drive.

The only thing Dick loved more than being a principal and a father was being a grandfather. The sun rose and set on his grandchildren. He was so excited when he found out he was going to be a “PaPa.” His other loves were his boat and his cabin at Lake Maloney. If you put the grandchildren together with him at the lake, he was truly in heaven.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Louise Sedlacek; and his brother, Glenn Sedlacek.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Sedlacek; his children, Doug (Cheryl) Sedlacek and Chery (Kelly) Schilling; three grandchildren, Kelley Sedlacek (George) Hunt, Kristi Schilling, and Ryan (Kelli) Schilling; brother, William (Betty) Sedlacek; sister-in-law, Kay Sedlacek; nieces, Deb Leibel, Karen Nichols and Nadine (Bobby) Paugh; and nephews, Gregg Sedlacek and Russel (Tracey) Runty.

Richard John “Dick” Sedlacek  (1930-2021)

Leon E. Wright, age 78 of Indianola, NE passed away at his home surrounded by family on June 23, 2021.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was born in Dodge City, KS on June 12, 1943, to James and Jessie (Schofield) Wright.&nbsp;&nbsp;The family moved to St. Francis, KS where Leon attended School.&nbsp;Leon&nbsp; attended&nbsp;Central Technical College at Hastings, NE and studied welding.&nbsp;&nbsp;He later went to the University of Nebraska and studied concrete construction and concrete.&nbsp;&nbsp;

On December 23, 1960, he was united in marriage to Sarah Mortimore in Curtis, NE.&nbsp;&nbsp;The couple celebrated their 60thAnniversary.&nbsp;&nbsp;To this union 4 children were born: Jackie, Verlyn, Brenda, and Michael.&nbsp;&nbsp;Leon owned and operated Wright Concrete and worked construction for most of his life.&nbsp;&nbsp;Clarence Stritt needed someone to dig a grave in Indianola, NE and he contacted Leon.&nbsp;&nbsp;After that time Leon began digging graves all over southwest Nebraska and continued for over 35 years. At the last, Leon was digging graves in 32 different cemeteries. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Leon was a member of the Blue Lodge A.F. and A.M of Bartley and McCook, Tehama Shrine; the McCook Elks and a life member of the National Rifle Association.&nbsp;&nbsp;He built many commercial buildings, pouring concrete in KS, CO and&nbsp;NE. .&nbsp;&nbsp;Leon took great pride in his work.&nbsp;&nbsp;He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle when he was not working. Leon and Sarah would take off and ride to the west coast time alone or many times with friends. He was an avid rider for over 60 years.&nbsp;&nbsp;Leon’s pride and joy was his kids and grandkids.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;He enjoyed teaching them about work ethic, the farm, and how to drive his backhoe. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Leon was preceded in death by his parents: brother;&nbsp;Wayne (Mary);&nbsp; 3&nbsp;sisters:&nbsp;Darline&nbsp;(Dale), Nadine (Charles) ,&nbsp;and Letha (Frank); sisters-in-law: Karen Mortimore, Evelyn (Dan) Hinton; brothers-in-law: Pat Mortimore. Leon and Sarah would take off and ride to the west coast time alone or many times with friends. Leon E. Wright  (1943-2021)

Thomas Edward McCallum was born April 23, 1997, in Imperial, Nebraska, to Michael E. McCallum and Rhonda S. Broughton. Thomas grew up and attended school in Imperial and Sidney, Nebraska. He furthered his education by attending High School in Denver. Thomas had many hobbies including making jewelry, leather working, making origami, watching tik-tok, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He never met a stranger that didn’t soon become a friend. A true passion of Thomas’s was making people laugh. He often left family and friends wondering where his crazy ideas came from. He was the best brother a sibling could ever ask for. Thomas enjoyed talking about memories from his childhood including favorites such as camping at Ender Reservoir, a time with his older sister; piling clothing and other items against a wall in the house so he could climb to the top and touch the ceiling. His Mom making apple cinnamon jelly during the holidays, and his younger sisters with their dogs. Lastly, raising turkeys and preparing them for Thanksgiving at Grandpa and Grandma McCallum’s. Thomas passed away Sunday afternoon, June 13th, 2021, at the Emerald Nursing and Rehab Lakeview Center in Grand Island, Nebraska, surrounded by his family. He was 24 years of age. Rickey Lavern Coon  (1957-2020)

Phyllis Lorene Bartak Sommer, age 91 years, passed away June 21, 2021, at her home with her family by her side.

Phyllis was born November 18, 1929, to Frank and Ruth (Anderson) Bartak at the family home.&nbsp; She was raised and lived her entire life in the Cliff Table area.&nbsp;

Phyllis attended first grade through eighth grade at Sunflower Rural School District, with third and fourth combined in one year.&nbsp; It was a one room, one teacher schoolhouse, no water, and outside toilets, that was two miles east of their home.&nbsp; She walked or rode a horse to school.

She attended high school at Merna, Nebraska where she roomed and boarded with an elderly single lady, Mrs. Paulsen.&nbsp; She graduated in 1946.&nbsp; From there, she took her last semester of high school and went to Kearney State Teacher’s College.&nbsp; She lived in the dorm while there and finished her schooling with some summer school.&nbsp; She taught three years at Dale Valley’s one room school, teaching all eight grades.&nbsp; She boarded at Kranz’s and Elwood and Lucille Woods’ homes during the week.&nbsp; During this time, she dated Keith Sommer for five years.

She married Keith on April 21st, 1949. &nbsp;They moved into the house they shared for 69 years.&nbsp; Keith and Phyllis raised five children on Cliff Table, with all of them attending and graduating from Anselmo-Merna Public School. She lived there herself for three years after his death, with help from her daughter, Corinne, and other family members.

Phyllis worked alongside of Keith helping to build their farm.&nbsp; At one time she could and had ran every piece of machinery on the farm, even the combine (just enough to say she did it).&nbsp; She raised and canned a huge garden, raised chickens for the freezer and sold the eggs in town, helped with milking, hogs and sheep.&nbsp; Besides doing that, she was still an amazing wife and mother, cooking for her family for years, even after “the boys” were back farming with Keith.&nbsp; Her grandkids loved her homemade cream puffs and the entire family always asked for her dilly bread.&nbsp; Somehow in all of her spare time, she created a beautiful yard with many amazing flowers.&nbsp; This was one of her greatest joys.&nbsp; She shared starts with any who asked.&nbsp; Phyllis provided fresh cut flowers every Sunday for the alter at Cliff Church when they were in season.&nbsp;&nbsp; She also decorated it with silk arrangements when they weren’t.&nbsp; Keith and Phyllis enjoyed square dancing for many years and Phyllis was in charge of keeping the bulletin board decorated at the hall.&nbsp;

After Keith retired, he and Phyllis enjoyed traveling in their camper.&nbsp; They traveled to Texas and Oregon on a yearly basis and also traveled to California, Mexico, Alaska and Canada.

Phyllis is survived by her children; son Cary (Connie) Sommer of Callaway, NE, Mark Sommer of Kearney, daughter Corinne Sommer of North Platte, NE, son Russ Sommer of Baton Rouge, LA and Lane (Rhonda) Sommer of Anselmo, NE; grandchildren Lance Sommer of Broken Bow, NE, Britt Sommer of Lincoln, NE, Megan Sommer of Omaha, NE, Drew (Alyssa) Sommer of Merna, NE and Cord Sommer of Merna, NE; great-grandchildren Aliyah, August, and Felicia Sommer of Broken Bow, NE.&nbsp; Phyllis is also survived by two sisters-in-law: Geraldine Wilkin of Murdock, NE and Edythe Bartak of Broken Bow, NE.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, twin brother David, brothers Frank, Clyde and Jack Bartak, sister Kathryn (Bartak) Mannel and her beloved husband Keith.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow, NE with Kathy Salts PMA officiating. Burial will be in the Merna Cemetery in Merna, NE.

Phyllis Lorene Sommer  (1929-2021)

Doris Mae Glaze Street passed peacefully on June 23, 2020 in The Villages, Florida. Born on February 13, 1928 in Arnold, Nebraska, Doris had lived over 92 years.

Raised by her mother, Ida Reich Glaze, in Arnold, Nebraska, she was the only girl among three brothers: Karl, Max, and Robert. She graduated from Arnold High School and continued attending her alumni class reunions.

August 3, 1947, she married Claris W. Street of Callaway, Nebraska &amp; raised three children: Gary, Cheryl, and Gina. Doris &amp; Claris enjoyed, supported, and participated in the traditions and festivities in Callaway.&nbsp; Beyond Callaway, they loved dancing at the Broken Bow Elks Club.&nbsp; Golf became a pleasant pastime for the couple as well as traveling in America and abroad.

Doris was active with the Legion Auxiliary &amp; Golf Club. For many years she was the Leader of the Butterflies 4-H club. Many young ladies benefitted from Doris’s leadership and creativity. She also dedicated her volunteer time and efforts to the Good Life Center, where she helped with the craft &amp; art activities. The Callaway Museum was one of her volunteer passions &amp; she continued support of the museum until she moved to Florida in 2019.

Doris was known for her dressmaking skills. Many local brides have enjoyed the result of her love for sewing beautiful fabrics and designs.&nbsp; She took great pleasure in her morning exercise, walking with friends. Doris was especially fond of her Arnold bowling team members and attending tournaments. Throughout her life, spending time with friends was important to her.

Doris was preceded in death by her mother, Ida Glaze, brothers Max, Karl, &amp; Robert, her husband, Claris and daughter Gina M. Street. 

She is survived by her son Gary D. Street &amp; daughter in law, Jane, her daughter Cheryl Street Lee and son in law, James. She had 4 grandchildren: Sarah, Greg, Susan, &amp; Tim &amp; their spouses and 8 great grandchildren.

Graveside Services and Inurnment will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in Rose Hill Cemetery at Callaway, Nebraska with Pastor Shanon Williams, officiating.

Following the Graveside Service there will be a time of sharing with family and friends from 2-4 p.m. at Shotgun Annie’s in Callaway, Nebraska.

Doris Mae Street  (1928-2020)

Eliasar Aguilar, age 30, of Grand Island, Nebraska, formerly of Lexington, Nebraska passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 18, 2021 at his home in Grand Island.

Eliasar was born on September 19, 1990, in French Village, California, to Jose De Jesus Aguilar Flores and Clementina Gomez Cervantes. At a young age, Eliasar’s family moved to Lexington, Nebraska where he attended Lexington Public Schools and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 2009. He then went on to further his education at Central Community College in Hastings, Nebraska, where he studied to be a mechanic.

Following his education, Eliasar moved back to Lexington and worked at Darr Feedlot and also mowed lawns. In 2016, Eliasar moved to Grand Island where he met Nelsy Gutierrez Madrid. They had two children together, Elias and Alonzo, with a baby girl on the way. While living in Grand Island, Eliasar worked for T &amp; E Cattle Company and Contractor Services, Inc.

Eliasar loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a grill master and was known for his chicken and wings. He enjoyed fishing, working on his truck and playing video games. He also loved his dogs, Armani, Celene and Minnie.

Eliasar will be remembered for his infectious smile. He had a heart of gold and loved to make people happy.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington, Nebraska with Father Jose Chavez officiating. The Mass will be livestreamed via the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home Facebook page.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington, Nebraska. The casket will be closed.

Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington, Nebraska.

 </figure>Eliasar Aguilar, age 30, of Grand Island, Nebraska, formerly of Lexington, Nebraska passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 18, 2021 at his home in Grand Island.Eliasar was born on September 19, 1990, in French Village, California, to Jose De Jesus Aguilar Flores and Clementina Gomez Cervantes. At a young age, Eliasar’s family moved to Lexington, Nebraska where he attended Lexington Public Schools and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 2009. He then went on to further his education at Central Community College in Hastings, Nebraska, where he studied to be a mechanic.Following his education, Eliasar moved back to Lexington and worked at Darr Feedlot and also mowed lawns. In 2016, Eliasar moved to Grand Island where he met Nelsy Gutierrez Madrid. They had two children together, Elias and Alonzo, with a baby girl on the way. While living in Grand Island, Eliasar worked for T &amp; E Cattle Company and Contractor Services, Inc.Eliasar loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a grill master and was known for his chicken and wings. He enjoyed fishing, working on his truck and playing video games. He also loved his dogs, Armani, Celene and Minnie.Eliasar will be remembered for his infectious smile. Eliasar Aguilar  (1990-2021)

Larry Duane Bratton of Cozad, Nebraska passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska at the age of 74. Larry was born June 12, 1947 at Eureka, Kansas to Robert and Edna Mae (Wheeler) Bratton. He graduated from Manhattan High School, Manhattan, Kansas in 1966. 

Larry married Constance 'Coni'  Allen on April 28, 1967 in Manhattan, Kansas. To this union two children were born, James and Michelle. He attended Kansas State University majoring in accounting. He and Coni resided in Kansas, Illinois and the Omaha, Nebraska area, finally settling in Cozad, Nebraska in 1979. Larry went to work for Nebraska Farm Products until his retirement in 2013. In November of 2000, Larry and Coni purchased a business in Cozad which became B's Bottles &amp; Videos. They sold the business in October of 2016. His wife Coni passed away in December of 2016. 

On December 7, 2018 Larry married Phyllis Loecker Burkhart of Yankton, SD. The couple continued to reside in Cozad. 

Larry followed all of his grandkids activities either in person or on-line. He enjoyed attending Ducks Unlimited Banquets and had an extensive Ducks Unlimited Decoy Collection. Growing up, Larry's parents owned a family restaurant which is where he perfected his cooking skills and love of different and exotic foods. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. His desire in life was to travel. He planned every summer family vacation and made a "mixtape" of songs ranging from Credence Clearwater Revival, the Doobie Brothers to the Bee Gees. He and Coni enjoyed many trips around the country to attend Dehy Conventions. His favorite destination was Mexico, making many trips over the years. He loved the sandy beaches, trying exotic foods and tropical drinks. He will be missed by many. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Jean 'Babe' Wheeler; his brothers, Robert 'Bobby' Bratton and Ernest 'Wayne' Bratton; and his wife, Coni. 

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Cozad, NE; son, James (Tammy) Bratton, grandchildren Jake (Amanda) Bratton, Bayley and Dawson Bratton, great granddaughters, Brynnlee and Annika, all of Douglas, WY; his daughter Michelle (Jamie) Liewer, grandchildren Walker, Wyatt and Wreece, all of O'Neill, NE; Phyllis' family, Jeff (Lisa) Loecker of Yankton, SD, Dawn (Shawn) Rithmiller of Webster, SD, Shanna (Jeff) Warden of Lawton, IA, Jeremy (Amanda) Wells of Sturgis, SD and Chris (Loni) Wells of Rapid City, SD, 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; his sister, Sue (Tom) Ortiz of Topeka, KS; sisters-in-law, Dixie Bratton of Augusta, KS and DeAnn Bratton of Manhatton, KS; and numerous nieces, nephews.

Larry Duane Bratton  (1947-2021)

Frances Ann Cade, age 81, passed away June 21, 2021 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. She was a resident of The Kensington in Hastings, Nebraska.

Ann was born November 1, 1939 in Clay Center, Nebraska to Charles Job and Emma Elizabeth Sanderson.&nbsp; The family lived in Mitchell and Bridgeport, Nebraska before returning to Clay Center where she spent her senior year and graduated in 1957.

Ann attended Cottey College, Nevada MO, a two year liberal arts P.E.O. college for women. She finished her bachelors degree in home economics education at the University of Nebraska Lincoln graduating in 1962. She began her teaching career at Harvard Public Schools in Harvard, NE.

She married Jerry Fate in 1960 and to this union one daughter Katherine Ann (Fate) Mines was born. In 1965 she married Darrel Adam. A daughter, Audrey Lynn (Adam) Berns, and one son, Michael Darrin Adam, were born to the couple. Ann taught in Giltner, worked in a variety of capacities at NC+ and Central Community College before working for MidNebraska in Hastings.

Ann studied gifted education and leadership and then moved to Ogallala, Nebraska in 1992 to begin a new career.&nbsp; She met and married Duane Cade in 1996. They resided in rural Lemoyne, Nebraska. She retired from Health and Human Services in Ogallala in 2006.

As a teacher and gifted educator, Ann used her God-given talents in acts of service.&nbsp; For all that knew her, they benefited from her deep understanding, care and love. Ann enjoyed and served in many civic and church organizations. Her creativity, gifted soprano voice, and tenacity was enjoyed by so many as she sewed costumes, enjoyed pranks, sang and loved her 11 grandchildren.&nbsp;

She is predeceased by her parents, Charles and Emma (McLaughlin) Sanderson, one brother Charles Sanderson, former husbands Jerry Fate and Duane Cade.&nbsp;

Left to cherish and remember her are her children and spouses, Katherine (Fate) Mines and Mick; Audrey (Adam) Berns and Keith; Michael and Amy Adam; her grandchildren Alaina (Mines) Bailey and Joshua, William Mines, Simeon and Kristen Berns, Rachel (Berns) and Samuel Gnagy, Josh and Blair Berns, Jakin and Kassy Berns. Anna-Hope Berns, Elisabeth Berns, Talitha Berns, Charles Adam and Benjamin Adam, 12 great grandchildren:&nbsp; Lucy Walker and Conlan Bailey; Adelaide, Clara, Ezekiel, and Liberty Berns; Isaiah, Malachi, Hosanna, Bethelle and Damascus Gnagy;&nbsp; Luka Berns and numerous extended family.&nbsp; Also remembering her is special friend Albert Karg.

Honorary pallbearers are her six grandsons: William Mines, Simeon Berns, Joshua Berns, Jakin Berns, Charles Adam, and Benjamin Adam.
