Evelyn Arla Alice Thornton was born in Carrington, North Dakota on February 18, 1929 to Carl and Bertie Thornton.&nbsp; She graduated to Heaven on June 3, 2020.

One of 16 children, Evelyn, known to all her siblings as ‘Katie’, attended school through the ninth grade.

On August 26, 1946, Evelyn married Harold Wilder.&nbsp; To this union, four sons were born, Charles, Eddie, Eugene and Duane, who succumbed to crib death at three months of age.

The family lived in various small South Dakota towns while Harold worked for the railroad, before moving to Sheridan County in Nebraska in the late 1950s.

Evelyn worked at different grocery stores, restaurants and clothing stores through the years her sons were in school, including Ideal Market and JC Penney.

After all the boys were grown and married, Harold and Evelyn moved to Washington State near several of Evelyn’s siblings.&nbsp; They moved back to Nebraska in 1990 and, when Harold was diagnosed with cancer, moved to Scottsbluff to be near his doctors.&nbsp; He passed away in 1991 and Evelyn moved back to Gordon.&nbsp; She worked at Alco for nearly 20 years before retiring and moving to an apartment in Rushville.

In 2016, following a near death experience, Evelyn moved in with her granddaughter, Kasa Sherlock, near Hemingford for about six months before moving to Broken Bow to be near her remaining son, Eddie.&nbsp; She lived at Off Broadway for three years, enjoying Bingo three times a week, a real variety of entertainment that came to the facility, field trips to many different locations and attended the Berean Church with her son, Ed and daughter-in-law, Etta, every Sunday.&nbsp; They often drove to Kearney or Grand Island so Evelyn could ‘shop’ – mostly enjoyed looking at things and comparing them to what she’d sold at Alco or JC Penney years before.&nbsp; &nbsp;

Once the Covid-19 scare isolated her from all the people and things she loved, Evelyn began going downhill.&nbsp; She lost her appetite and began losing weight.&nbsp; In late April, Evelyn entered the local hospital with hopes they could get her back on track, but that didn’t happen and she entered Hospice at Brookestone View on April 27, 2020, where she remained until her death.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, all fifteen of her siblings, her husband, three sons and two grandchildren.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Etta Wilder of Broken Bow, daughters-in-law Beverly Wilder of Gering and Lyn Wilder of Rushville, thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held Friday, June 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the Berean Bible Church in Broken Bow, NE with Pastor Tyce Jensen officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Scenic, South Dakota. Evelyn Arla Alice Thornton (1929-2020)

Lila Maline, age 98, of North Platte, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020, in North Platte.

Lila was born at Orfino, Nebraska to Frank and Ethel Owen on April 6, 1922.&nbsp; When she was in the 5th grade, the Owen family moved to Ingham and Lila attended school in Farnam.&nbsp; She played kitten ball (an early form of softball) and excelled in mathematics; she could compute in her head her entire life.

After graduating from Ingham High School in 1940, Lila moved to North Platte and worked for John and Christine Maline, who along with their adult sons, farmed south of town.&nbsp; She helped cook, clean and take care of the household and was treated as family from the very beginning.

Lila later became part of the Maline family when she married the oldest son, Lloyd, on May 11, 1941, at the Maline farm.&nbsp; She and Lloyd were married for 59 years and raised nine children.&nbsp; In 1962 they moved into North Platte and purchased a food distribution business.&nbsp; She worked at Modern Market and then worked for Montgomery Ward, retiring after 20 years.

Lila was a member of the Berean Church for over 70 years and taught Sunday School, led a women’s missionary group, served in the baby nursery and organized funeral dinners.&nbsp; She enjoyed lifelong friendships, several of whom enjoyed a regular Friday afternoon game of Mexican Train Dominos.&nbsp; Lila belonged to the Sunshine Extension Club for over 75 years and volunteered for R.S.V.P. for 35 years.&nbsp; She enjoyed quilting and made quilts for all her children and grandchildren.

Lila was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, in 2001, and son, Gustaf, in 2014; her parents, Frank and Ethel Owen; two great-granddaughters; a niece and two nephews; along with all her and Lloyd’s siblings and their spouses which include Lois and Marvin Kjar, Gail and Fred Wesch, John Clinton Owen, Ruth and Alvin Nichelson, Janet and Ken Kelley, Leneah Maline, Earl Maline, Chester and Grace Maline, Ivan and Bertha Maline, Inez Maline, Clifford and Charlotte Maline, and Stanley and wives, Dee and Doris Maline.

Lila is survived by her sons, Allen (Susan) and Carl (Darlene, of North Platte, Bill, of Omaha, and Bob (Sherry, of Sutherland; daughters, Mary Ann (Rod) Karre, of Westminster, CO, Ida Mae Lauer, of St. Augustine, FL, Coleen (Leo) Chingren, and Kathy (Charlie) Huebner, of North Platte; daughter-in-law, Sharron Maline, of Northglenn, CO; as well as 21 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 16 great great-grandchildren and many other family members.

Services and burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery (north of Cozad) at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2020. Lila Maline (1922-2020)

Fermin Solache Reyes, 75, of Lexington, Nebraska passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2020 at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Fermin was born on June 7, 1944, in Atlixtac, Guerrero, Mexico to Francisco and Porfiria (Reyes) Solache.&nbsp; He started working at a young age and moved to Idaho and then Nevada working in the fields.

He was united in marriage to Antonia Tellez in 1963 in Mexico and to this union eight children were born: Domitilo, Carmen, Irma, Guillermina, Cristina, Refugio, Heriberto and Lorenza. In 1992, Fermin moved his family to Lexington, Nebraska where he worked at I.B.P. now Tyson in Processing.&nbsp; Due to his health he retired from the plant in 2012.

Fermin was a faithful member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington. He enjoyed listening to music, watching television, playing Bingo scratch off tickets and working in the garden.&nbsp; He was a kind, gentle man with an infectious smile who loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Antonia of Lexington; children, Domitilo (Teresa Marquez) Solache, Carmen (Juvencio) Sandoval, Irma (Vinh) Nguyen, Guillermina (Pedro Vargas, Cristina (Francisco) Solache, Refugio (Sandy Alva) and Lorenza (Mario Garcia) all of Lexington; twenty grandchildren and twenty six great-grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many friends.

Fermin was preceded in death by his parents; son, Heriberto “Herbie” and two brothers.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 from 4-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m.

Fermin Solache Reyes (1944-2020

Nancy J. (Smith) Crow, age 76, of Lemoyne, NE, passed away, Saturday, May 30, 2020, at her home in Lemoyne with her husband at her side.&nbsp;

She was born to late Robert LeRoy and Joyce Faye (Gyles) Smith on March 2, 1944 in Alexandria, South Dakota. She attended Notre Dame Academy and later earned her Nursing Degree.

She married William Thornton Crow on September&nbsp; 28, 1997, moving to Lemoyne 14 years ago from Colorado Springs, where they met.&nbsp;

Nancy (Granny) was active in her High School Marching Band, both with twirling the baton and musical instruments, she played the saxophone, clarinet, flute and the piano.&nbsp; She loved to sing and had a beautiful voice singing to her children and grandchildren.&nbsp; She loved to write stories and poems.&nbsp; Nancy spent her life working as a Nurse in hospitals, assisted living care centers and in-home patient care with the love and passion in taking care of her patients.&nbsp; Living in Colorado, she spent her time playing bingo, baking, gardening and sewing.&nbsp; 

Moving to Lemoyne, she spent her time at the Senior Center with her friends and making the monthly birthday cakes for the center. She loved spending time at the recreation center swimming and at her church, Martin Bay Community Church.&nbsp; She had a passion for animals, having cats, dogs, fish and birds her entire life, even rescuing in the hundreds of cats that were abandoned.

Nancy was full of life, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be missed dearly. God has taken his angel home to rest at His side, but her memories will live on with her family.&nbsp;

She is preceded in death by her son Danny Michael; 1 sister, Connie; and her grandchildren, Ashley and Scott.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband, William Crow; daughters; Lesa Kay (Scott, all of Lemoyne; Lori Ann (Troy, of Aurora, CO; Julie Marie ( Daniel, of Colorado Springs; 7 grandchildren, Leilani, Amber (Derick, Rhonda (Joel, Brian, Nicole (Cody, Justin (Danielle) and Alyssa; 11 great-grandchildren, Moriah, Scottie, Xavier, Dominique, Majestic, A.J., Cadence, Justin, Ezra, Lucas and Kaylee; 1 sister, Kathy; 1 brother, Robert (June, brother-in-law, Larry; and many nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

The family chose cremation. A Celebration of Nancy's life will be held at a later date.

Nancy J. (Smith) Crow (1944-2020

Crystal Lorraine Gerdes was born October 20, 1966, in Wheatridge, CO, the second of four children and only daughter born to Ellis and Sharon (Beck) Gibbs, passed on to Heaven, Thursday, May 28, 2020 in Friend, NE at the age of 53.

As a young girl, she attended grade school at Parmalee Elementary in Indian Hills, CO and later graduated from Wheatland High School in Madrid, NE with the class of 1985. Crystal furthered her education by enrolling in McCook Community College and Kearney State College, graduating with Bachelor's of Arts Degree with an emphasis in early childhood and special education in 1989. 

Crystal was united in marriage to Gregory Gerdes on August 12, 1988, in Kearney and to this union two daughters, Lynn and Mikaela were born.&nbsp; She was both a daycare provider and a para-professional working with children with special needs. Crystal's life-long passion was working with children, even when she was a little child herself.&nbsp; She enjoyed serving children and was always drawn to those who needed help with special needs, even to the end. Her family was the center of her life and love the time with them, especially Christmas time.&nbsp; Crystal always put other first.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Sharon Gibbs; husband, Gregory Gerdes in 1993; a niece, Casie Gibbs in 2012; and a father-in-law, Rod Gerdes.

Crystal is survived by 2 daughters; Lynn (Brian) Pethoud, of Beaver Crossing, NE; Mikaela Gerdes, of Lincoln, NE; 3 grandchildren, Aidyn, Blake and Chloe Pethoud, all of Beaver Crossing; brothers and sister-in-law; Curtis Gibbs, of Imperial, NE; Clark (Cathy) Gibbs, of Sutton; Collin Gibbs, of Omaha; mother-in-law; Carolyn Gerdes, of North Platte; along with many other relatives and countless friends.

 </figure>Crystal Lorraine Gerdes was born October 20, 1966, in Wheatridge, CO, the second of four children and only daughter born to Ellis and Sharon (Beck) Gibbs, passed on to Heaven, Thursday, May 28, 2020 in Friend, NE at the age of 53.As a young girl, she attended grade school at Parmalee Elementary in Indian Hills, CO and later graduated from Wheatland High School in Madrid, NE with the class of 1985. Crystal furthered her education by enrolling in McCook Community College and Kearney State College, graduating with Bachelor's of Arts Degree with an emphasis in early childhood and special education in 1989. Crystal was united in marriage to Gregory Gerdes on August 12, 1988, in Kearney and to this union two daughters, Lynn and Mikaela were born.&nbsp; She was both a daycare provider and a para-professional working with children with special needs. Crystal's life-long passion was working with children, even when she was a little child herself.&nbsp; She enjoyed serving children and was always drawn to those who needed help with special needs, even to the end. Crystal Lorraine Gerdes (1966-2020

Deanna "Danny" F. Wolford, age 78, longtime resident of Ogallala, NE, joined Our Heavenly Father, Thursday, May 28, 2020 at the Ogallala Community Hospital.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; Danny was born July 22, 1941 in Brule, NE, the daughter of Joe P. Rios and Lena (Santero) Rusley.&nbsp; Her and her three siblings grew up in Brule, NE.&nbsp; &nbsp; She attended&nbsp;High School in Garner, IA.&nbsp; In November of 1983, she finished her Food Service Supervisor Course from Western, NE Technical College.&nbsp;

Danny later moved to Ogallala in 1988, where she worked at the Ogallala Community Hospital as the supervisor of the kitchen.&nbsp; She retired on October 31, 2014. &nbsp; She was an independent, hard working lady that enjoyed planting flowers, gardening, and keeping things tidy. She enjoyed the company of Runt and Spook, her cats, throughout the years. Danny enjoyed keeping in touch with family and friends.

Danny battled bone cancer in 2019, but her strength overcame the difficulties.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 daughter; and her late husband, Jerry Wolford.&nbsp; &nbsp; Danny is survived and lovingly remembered by her children; Jody (Steve) Patch, of Wyoming; Lennie (Michelle) Collins, of Ogallala; Lisa Collins, of Wisconsin; Tracy (Stacy) Collins, of Oshkosh; Michelle (Chenae Carroll) Wolford, of Colorado; fiancé, Tom Jehorek; 3 sisters; Delores Ingersoll; Rosalee Severson, all of Iowa; Mary Snater, of Arizona; 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.&nbsp; &nbsp; Visitation will be held, Sunday, May 31, 2020, from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. at the Draucker Funeral Home Chapel in Ogallala, Nebraska. &nbsp;Anna Mae Knickerbocker (Ann, as she liked to be called) was born September 8, 1920, to Lyman and Elva (Nighswonger) Vincent at Sparland, Illinois, the tenth of thirteen children.&nbsp; In this large family was a mother and father, faithful to the Word of God.&nbsp; Church and Sunday School were a vital part of life. As a girl, one of Ann’s passions was sports, especially basketball. Girls had no part in sports in the small schools.&nbsp; In fact, she would consider herself a tomboy. In a family as large as this, everyone had duties, especially babysitting grandbabies.&nbsp; Music was an important part of this family also. Ann was close to her sister, Hilda Joy.&nbsp; Hilda played piano and saxophone and her desire was to go to Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.&nbsp; A tragic accident took her life at age 20.&nbsp; As a result, Ann had all the Moody information, and became a “Moody” graduate in 1943. During her life at Moody, music and Bible were her goals.&nbsp; Her main employment at school was singing on WMBI radio, where she once was accompanied on the piano by George Beverly Shea. During this time, World War II was raging.&nbsp; On one occasion a roommate’s brother, A.J. Knickerbocker stopped by and the couple was introduced. Ann and A.J. fell in love and were married on April 5, 1945, and to this union three children were born: Joy, Mark and Forrest. The Knickerbockers first served and pastored in A.J.’s hometown of Ontonagon, Michigan. They later moved on to Ocqueoc, MI, St. Charles, MN, Arvada, CO, Sterling, CO, Stratton, NE, and finally the Greeley Alliance Church in Greeley, CO. With failing health and growing older, the couple moved to Wauneta, NE, in August of 1993. Ann passed away Monday, June 1, 2020, at her home in Wauneta. She was 99 years of age. Ann was preceded in death by her parents; a stillborn infant; sisters Ruth, Evangeline, Betty, Darlene, Orla, Dorthy Alice, Gladys, and Hilda Joy; brothers Louis and Forrest Dean. Survivors include: Daughter: Joy Wheeler and husband, Rod, of Wauneta, NE. Sons: Mark Knickerbocker and wife Suzi of Wheatland, WY. Forrest Knickerbocker and wife Susan of Ecru, MS. Anna Mae Knickerbocker (1920-2020)

Bonnell “Bonnie/Boots” Laverne Hyde, 94, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away on May 30th.&nbsp; She was born in Altona (Wayne, Nebraska on July 13th, 1925.

Bonnell was married to Virgil Hyde, in Phoenix City, Alabama on June, 16th 1943.&nbsp; When she was younger she loved bowling, playing Gin Rummey and was a beautiful singer.&nbsp;&nbsp;She was the manager at S and H Green Stamps for 30 years.&nbsp; Her greatest gifts were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.&nbsp; She was loved by many, including staff members at Linden Court.&nbsp; One staff member said that the highlight of going to work was getting to see Bonnie.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Virgil “Boomps” Hyde; parents, Ada and Ernest Bahde; brothers, Donald, Robert and Buster Bahde; sister, Barbara McEntee and son in law, Dudley Oltmans. She is survived by her children Mike (Deb) Hyde and Peggy Oltmans; grandchildren, Craig (Shelly) Cox, Sami Erickson and Val (Courtney) Hyde; great grandchildren, Marisa, Gunner, Cameron and Vinni Cox and Colton Givins; &nbsp;Jaydn Brown, Rylan and Brecken Erickson; and Corby Condon; and younger brother, Patrick (Pete) Bahde.

She was the kindest, feistiest, loving Nana and will be missed dearly.

Bonnell 'Bonnie/Boots/ Laverne Hyde (1925-2020

Margene Leona Flanders, 77, of North Platte passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, after a long hard fought battle with cancer, Tuesday, June 2, 2020.&nbsp; She was born April 29, 1943 to Arthur and Anora (Bartles) Albrecht in Deshler, Nebraska and was raised on the family farm in Deshler along with her 3 sisters.&nbsp;

She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Friedensau, Nebraska.&nbsp; She attended Trinity Lutheran Church And School K-8th grade and finished her education in Deshler, Nebraska, graduating from Deshler High School in 1961.&nbsp; Following graduation she moved to Lincoln to work for First Security Financial.&nbsp; It was in Lincoln she met the love of her life Lyle Flanders.&nbsp; They were married September 2, 1962 at the same church in which she was baptized, confirmed and educated in her early years.&nbsp; Together they had and lovingly raised 3 children, Kristi,&nbsp;Jim, and Brian.&nbsp; Throughout their years&nbsp;together Lyle and Marge lived in various different communities where Marge held jobs as a bookkeeper or secretary.&nbsp; They eventually settled in North Platte where they have spent the past 27 years.&nbsp; Her longest and most beloved position&nbsp;was the 13 years she spent with the North Platte Public School District as an administrative&nbsp;assistant in the superintendent's office.&nbsp;

Marge was very strong in her faith and was a long time member of&nbsp;Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in North Platte.&nbsp; She loved music whether it be playing the piano or singing in various choir groups.&nbsp;

Later she was an avid fan of her grandkids' and enjoyed attending their various activities.&nbsp;&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents; mother and father-in-law, Pauline and Warren Flanders; twin sister, Marjorie Kroeger; brother-in-law, Jerry Grone; and nephews Robert Grone, and Donnie Kroeger.

Marge is survived by her husband, Lyle; their 3 children, Kristi (Jim) Trofholz, Jim (Denise) Flanders, and Brian (Kim) Flanders;&nbsp; nine grandchildren, Kerri (Shane) Crawford, Craig Trofholz, and his special friend Mataya Belka, Hayden Flanders, Trevyn Flanders, Grayson Flanders, Branton Flanders, Jaeli (Kort) Steele, Karli Flanders and fiancé, Adam Mackley, and Emma Flanders all of North Platte; two sisters, Arlene (Melvin) Holmes of Grand Island, and Pat (Stan) Schmidt of Malcolm; sister-in law, Bev (Jack) Guthrie of Gold Canyon, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.

She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Daniel Ramsey officiating.&nbsp; Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens following the service. Book signing will be Friday, June 5th&nbsp;at Carpenter Memorial Chapel from 12:00 to 5:00 PM with visitation with family from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

 </figure>Margene Leona Flanders, 77, of North Platte passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, after a long hard fought battle with cancer, Tuesday, June 2, 2020.&nbsp; She was born April 29, 1943 to Arthur and Anora (Bartles) Albrecht in Deshler, Nebraska and was raised on the family farm in Deshler along with her 3 sisters.&nbsp;She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Friedensau, Nebraska.&nbsp; She attended Trinity Lutheran Church And School K-8th grade and finished her education in Deshler, Nebraska, graduating from Deshler High School in 1961.&nbsp; Following graduation she moved to Lincoln to work for First Security Financial.&nbsp; It was in Lincoln she met the love of her life Lyle Flanders.&nbsp; They were married September 2, 1962 at the same church in which she was baptized, confirmed and educated in her early years.&nbsp; Together they had and lovingly raised 3 children, Kristi,&nbsp;Jim, and Brian.&nbsp; Throughout their years&nbsp;together Lyle and Marge lived in various different communities where Marge held jobs as a bookkeeper or secretary.&nbsp; They eventually settled in North Platte where they have spent the past 27 years.&nbsp; Her longest and most beloved position&nbsp;was the 13 years she spent with the North Platte Public School District as an administrative&nbsp;assistant in the superintendent's office.&nbsp;Marge was very strong in her faith and was a long time member of&nbsp;Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in North Platte.&nbsp; She loved music whether it be playing the piano or singing in various choir groups.&nbsp;Later she was an avid fan of her grandkids' and enjoyed attending their various activities.&nbsp;&nbsp;She was preceded in death by her parents; mother and father-in-law, Pauline and Warren Flanders; twin sister, Marjorie Kroeger; brother-in-law, Jerry Grone; and nephews Robert Grone, and Donnie Kroeger.Marge is survived by her husband, Lyle; their 3 children, Kristi (Jim) Trofholz, Jim (Denise) Flanders, and Brian (Kim) Flanders;&nbsp; nine grandchildren, Kerri (Shane) Crawford, Craig Trofholz, and his special friend Mataya Belka, Hayden Flanders, Trevyn Flanders, Grayson Flanders, Branton Flanders, Jaeli (Kort) Steele, Karli Flanders and fiancé, Adam Mackley, and Emma Flanders all of North Platte; two sisters, Arlene (Melvin) Holmes of Grand Island, and Pat (Stan) Schmidt of Malcolm; sister-in law, Bev (Jack) Guthrie of Gold Canyon, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by family and friends.Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Daniel Ramsey officiating.&nbsp; Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens following the service. Johnny Traxler, age 65, of North Platte, passed away at Great Plains Health on Tuesday, June 2, 2020.

Johnny was born at Scottsbluff on December 9, 1954, to Lloyd and Laura Traxler.&nbsp; He grew up and attended school in Kearney and North Platte then went on to work as a mechanic in several Nebraska towns.&nbsp; After he became disabled in 1987, Johnny was able to work as the Resident Manager for Prairie View Town Houses in North Platte from 1992-2002.&nbsp; He later had a paper route to keep him busy.

On May 23, 1981, Johnny married Donna Moore in Central City where they were living.&nbsp; They eventually moved to Kearney then North Platte in ’92, where they have been ever since.

Johnny loved his family and pet cockatiels and being a mechanic was also his hobby.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Sam, David and Lloyd; and sisters, Darlene Shea and Shirley Butler.

Johnny leaves behind his wife, Donna; children, Nicholous Traxler, of North Platte, Johnny Jones, of Lincoln, Shannon (Scott) Simpson, of Oakes, ND, and Loura Kish; grandchildren, Mabry, Ethan and Shane Simpson; sister, Linda (Don) Phelps, of Kansas; sisters-in-law, Heidi Traxler, of Germany, Dorie Traxler, of North Platte and Betty Traxler, of Grand Island; brother, Jim Shea; as well as other family.

Frankie had many hobbies including: reading, watching old westerns, telling stories of the past, watching the corn grow, and raising cattle. He especially enjoyed his grandkids and great-grandkids.&nbsp; Teasing them was always on the top of his list.&nbsp; He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Benkelman.&nbsp; He was also a member of the JC’s in the earlier years, as well as serving on the fair board and local school board. &nbsp; &nbsp; Eva Dorothea (Thomsen) Reutzel, age 83 of Torrington, Wyoming passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. &nbsp; &nbsp; Eva was born on June 17, 1936 to Henry P. and Mary Thomsen.&nbsp; Eva married Neil Reutzel on June 4, 1954.&nbsp; To this union, four sons were born.&nbsp; Eva was a wonderful cook and artist and enjoyed boy scouts and providing daycare. &nbsp; &nbsp; Survivors include her sons, Steve, Rick (Carole, Ray, and Tim (Diane) and their families; and her sisters, Colleen, Lois, and Melanie. &nbsp; &nbsp; A memorial service will be held at a later date.

&nbsp; James "Jim" D. Trusty, 70 of Wallace, NE, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2020, at Denver Health in Denver, CO. Jim was born April 9, 1950, in Sutherland, Nebraska, to Floyd and Esther (Harms) Trusty. He graduated from Wallace High School, class of 1968. In August of 1968, Jim was inducted into active duty service with the U.S. Air Force serving as firefighter chief.&nbsp; Following his honorable discharge in 1977, he started at Scoular Grain Company until 1992.&nbsp; Jim then began farming with his father on the family farm until his retirement in 2015. On September 1, 1984, Jim married Karma Brott, and the couple made their home in Wallace. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, dirt track racing, gardening, spending time with grandkids, and all of his hunting and fishing buddies.&nbsp; He also loved his dogs.&nbsp; Jim was an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers fan and Denver Broncos fan. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; brother Russ Trusty, sister Linda Morrow and grandson Jackson Trusty. James 'Jim' D. Trusty (1950-2020

Robbie Besarick was born Robin Sue White on March 19, 1961, in Sioux Falls, S. D., to Horace Stewart White (lpswich, S.D.) and Beverly Jean (Olson, Vermillion, S. D.).&nbsp; She was the fourth of four children, following Linda (1947, Roger (1948, and Ronald (1954-1962). She attended elementary school in Sioux Falls, but in her early teens moved to Aptos, CA, with her mother, and graduated from high school there.&nbsp; She met Henry Martin while they were both working at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.&nbsp; They married in 1981 and moved to Australia, where their first son, (Henry) Scott, was born.&nbsp; Work next took them to Bokeelia, FL, where their second son, Max, was born.&nbsp; Fifteen years later, Henry and Robin ended their marriage but remained close in subsequent years.&nbsp; Henry preceded Robin in death, December 25th, 2019. Around the year 2000, Robbie met Bill Besarick.&nbsp; They were married in December of 2002 and were inseparable until Bill's passing on December 1, 2018.&nbsp; Bill was an airport manager in the San Diego area when they met, but soon took a job in Northern California, then Fargo, N.D., before they finally settled in Grant, NE. Robbie is survived by her sons, Scott and Max, Scott's wife Megan and their two children, Clark and Lorelei; and Max's wife Shelby and their two children Lyla and Jude.&nbsp; Other family survivors include Robbie's sister, Linda Elam, her grandson Zac and her husband Stephen Poteat, brother Roger and his wife Kay White and their five children and spouses, and four grandchildren. Robbie was fiercely independent, which sometimes masked her sensitive and giving heart.&nbsp; It is generally known that her health was not good at any time in her life, especially in the last 15 years.&nbsp; Where physical failures and medical complications would have overcome many, Robbie soldiered on, as if those challenges gave her an opportunity to rise above circumstances. Though she struggled with the loss of her husband, Bill, for more than a year, following this Easter, she seemed to have turned a page in her life, planning to finally move back to Florida where she could be close to Scott and Max's families.&nbsp; She was in frequent discussions with her sons and brother, Roger, for planning purposes.&nbsp; Most recently, holding some decisions off until the planned arrival of Roger and Kay in Grant on June 8.&nbsp; But before Roger and Kay could get to Grant, Robbie's indomitable spirit was checked by the exhaustion of her body.&nbsp; Coincidentally, inspired by vigorous Bible study at and following Easter, Robbie was at a renewed peace with her faith-being prepared, one thinks, for anything.&nbsp; She now has the gift of a resurrected body, and dwells in the presence of her Lord and Savior. Robbie Besarick was born Robin Sue White on March 19, 1961, in Sioux Falls, S. D., to Horace Stewart White (lpswich, S.D.) and Beverly Jean (Olson, Vermillion, S. D.).&nbsp; She was the fourth of four children, following Linda (1947, Roger (1948, and Ronald (1954-1962). She attended elementary school in Sioux Falls, but in her early teens moved to Aptos, CA, with her mother, and graduated from high school there.&nbsp; She met Henry Martin while they were both working at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.&nbsp; They married in 1981 and moved to Australia, where their first son, (Henry) Scott, was born.&nbsp; Work next took them to Bokeelia, FL, where their second son, Max, was born.&nbsp; Fifteen years later, Henry and Robin ended their marriage but remained close in subsequent years.&nbsp; Henry preceded Robin in death, December 25th, 2019. Around the year 2000, Robbie met Bill Besarick.&nbsp; They were married in December of 2002 and were inseparable until Bill's passing on December 1, 2018.&nbsp; Bill was an airport manager in the San Diego area when they met, but soon took a job in Northern California, then Fargo, N.D., before they finally settled in Grant, NE. Robbie is survived by her sons, Scott and Max, Scott's wife Megan and their two children, Clark and Lorelei; and Max's wife Shelby and their two children Lyla and Jude.&nbsp; Other family survivors include Robbie's sister, Linda Elam, her grandson Zac and her husband Stephen Poteat, brother Roger and his wife Kay White and their five children and spouses, and four grandchildren. Robbie was fiercely independent, which sometimes masked her sensitive and giving heart.&nbsp; It is generally known that her health was not good at any time in her life, especially in the last 15 years.&nbsp; Where physical failures and medical complications would have overcome many, Robbie soldiered on, as if those challenges gave her an opportunity to rise above circumstances. Though she struggled with the loss of her husband, Bill, for more than a year, following this Easter, she seemed to have turned a page in her life, planning to finally move back to Florida where she could be close to Scott and Max's families.&nbsp; She was in frequent discussions with her sons and brother, Roger, for planning purposes.&nbsp; Most recently, holding some decisions off until the planned arrival of Roger and Kay in Grant on June 8.&nbsp; But before Roger and Kay could get to Grant, Robbie's indomitable spirit was checked by the exhaustion of her body.&nbsp; Coincidentally, inspired by vigorous Bible study at and following Easter, Robbie was at a renewed peace with her faith-being prepared, one thinks, for anything.&nbsp; She now has the gift of a resurrected body, and dwells in the presence of her Lord and Savior. Robin 'Robbie' Sue (White) Besarick (1961-2020

Marshall D. Grant a longtime resident of McCook, passed away at Hillcrest Nursing Home of McCook on May 29, 2020.&nbsp; He was 89 years of age.&nbsp; Marshall was born on April 1, 1931 in Omaha, Nebraska to Carl and Lillie (Bengtson) Grant.&nbsp; He graduated from Omaha South High in 1948.

On July 27, 1952 he was united in marriage to Jean Jacobsen in Omaha.&nbsp; He served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1952.&nbsp; He joined the Nebraska Safety Patrol on October 3, 1955. Marshall was first stationed in Broken Bow, Nebraska. In 1966 he was promoted to Corporal and transferred to Holdrege, Nebraska.&nbsp; In 1969 he was promoted to Sergeant and transferred to McCook.&nbsp; He retired on October 4, 1985 after 30 years of service with the Nebraska State Patrol.

Marshall served on the McCook City Council.&nbsp; He was a member of the Methodist United Memorial Church in McCook.&nbsp; He was a Past Exalted Ruler of McCook Lodge 1434 and District Deputy to the Grand Lodge.&nbsp; He was a member of Masonic Lodge 135 AF &amp; AM, York Rite – St. John Commandery No. 16, King Cyrus Chapter No. 35 and Occonoxee Council No. 16 of McCook, and Tehama Shrine, holding many offices.&nbsp; Marshall was also a member of the Scottish Rite in Omaha.

He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles McCook Aerie No. 2769, American Legion Post No. 203 and the Peace Officers Association of Nebraska.

Marshall enjoyed traveling, playing golf and bridge and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Wayne Grant.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Jean of McCook; son, Doug (Marilyn) Grant of Fort Collins, Colorado and daughter, Kathy (Jack) Karuzas of Port St. Lucie, Florida.

No viewing or visitation; cremation was chosen.

Darold Ray Ebmeier, 79, of Maywood, Nebraska, died May 28, 2020 in Maywood.&nbsp;&nbsp;

He was born November 9, 1940 in Holdrege, NE, son of Ernest E. and Ruth (Kehr) Ebmeier. Darold attended Bertrand Elementary and graduated from Bertrand High with the class of 1959.&nbsp; He then went on to earn his Bachelor's from Kearney State College in 1963.&nbsp; He moved to Maywood, NE in 1964 where he made his home.&nbsp; Darold married Mary Ann Lemmon on July 30, 1966 at Crawford, NE and the couple had three children - Laura, Benjamin and Calvin.&nbsp; Darold was a farmer and rancher at heart and always enjoyed a good cattle sale.&nbsp; He was the owner of DE Feed Store and Mr. E-Z restaurant; he also worked at the Maywood Elevator.&nbsp; Darold was a member of the Maywood Lions Club and served on the Maywood School Board.&nbsp; He enjoyed watching Fox News and RFDTV.&nbsp; &nbsp;He loved sports especially baseball and Nebraska Football; he was a manager of the Kearney State College football team.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Ruth Maxine Sitorius passed away May 30, 2020 at Hilltop Estates.

She was born October 17, 1920 in Cozad, NE, daughter of Bunkum and Dora Bartlett on the family farm northwest of Cozad, NE.

She attended elementary school at Lucerne Valley and graduated from high school in 1938 from Cozad.&nbsp;

On October 17, 1946 she was married to Virgil W. Sitorius and to this union three children were born; Doug, Kay, and Jolyne.

Virgil passed away in February of 1981 and a year later she moved into Gothenburg.&nbsp;

Ruth was a member of the United Methodist Church.&nbsp; She enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center fellowshipping with her friends.&nbsp; Ruth loved gardening and was especially fond of her rose bushes.&nbsp; She was an avid card player and enjoyed Saturday night card club.&nbsp; She also enjoyed teaching her grandchildren her love of skip-bo and chocolate.&nbsp;&nbsp;

She is survived by son, Doug (Connie) Sitorius of Gothenburg, daughters, Kay (Grant) Hinze of Holdrege, and Jo Johnson of Gothenburg; grandchildren Jeremy (Tricia) Sitorius of Gothenburg, Jennifer (David) Campa of San Luis Obispo, CA, Jaime (Joe) Burkink of Gothenburg, Megan Hinze of Ft. Mildred Ilene Miller passed away on May 30th, 2020 with family surrounding her.&nbsp; She was born on her parents’ ranch northwest of Maxwell to Harry and Minnie (Geise) Sukraw on June 17th, 1933.&nbsp; She grew up and attended school in Maxwell where was a cheerleader, Glee Club soloist and pianist.&nbsp; She graduated from Maxwell High School in 1952.

As a member of the Parkview Nazarene Church in North Platte, she began playing the piano for Sunday School and church services at the age of 14 and continued to play either the piano or organ for 74 years. She directed many children’s programs, choirs, and musicals.&nbsp; She played for numerous weddings and funerals and it was a joy to serve others.&nbsp; She was also the president of the Nazarene Missionary society, a group that made many quilts that were sent to foreign and domestic missionaries as well as those close by in need.

On November 23, 1952 Ilene married the love of her life Darold Miller. They spend their first year in Pittsburg, PA. where Darold was stationed as an army corporal.&nbsp; Upon discharge, they returned to the Maxwell area and farmed for 60 years.&nbsp; Here, they had four children. Ilene leaves behind her husband Darold Miller of 67 years, daughter Christy Stevens of McCook, son Bruce (Billie) of Loveland, CO, son Ivan (Leah) of Maxwell, Sharon Cooley (boyfriend-Donnell Rose) of Brady, NE.&nbsp; Ilene has 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.&nbsp; Preceded in death Daniel Stevens (son-in-law) and Kaylan Fecht (great granddaughter).&nbsp; Brothers; Harold, Paul &amp; Quinten Sukraw, sisters; Alice Wilson and Margaret Wade.

Ilene organized the Hill and Valley Extension Club and was a member for over 50 years.&nbsp; She was a master gardener with beautiful flowers and vegetables which filled the cellar and freezer every winter.&nbsp; She was an excellent seamstress and made most of her family’s clothes throughout their young years.&nbsp; She also managed their Pioneer Seed Corn business for 20 years.&nbsp; She was a great example of the Proverbs 31 woman.

But the real love of her life was sharing her faith and love of God.&nbsp; She would express it by giving of herself in time, preparing and giving food, teaching Sunday School classes, and sharing in organizing her husband’s many ministries.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Maxwell High School Scholarship Fund.

Mildred Ilene Miller (1933-2020

Lois (Harris) Peck Hilker, 85, of Sutherland died May 28, 2020 at Sutherland Care Center.&nbsp; Lois was born on February 14, 1935 in Hollis, OK, the fourth of five children born to Nolan and Cora (Hammons) Harris. As a young child her family moved to Fullerton, California. Lois graduated from Orange County High School in 1953.

Lois married Donald L. Peck, on June 28, 1953.&nbsp; To this union, they had 5 children - Dawn, Robin, Kandy, Daryl and April.

They resided in the Garden Grove, CA area until 1964, when they moved their family to Grant, NE.&nbsp; Don had family there, as he had grown up on his parent's farm outside Grant until his family moved to Oregon to farm and then later to southern California to start a construction company.

In 1968 Don and Lois settled in Wallace, NE, where Don worked for Hansen Lumber Company until his death from cancer in 1977.&nbsp; Lois worked at the Wallace Bar for many years.

From 1982 to 1991, Lois was married to Eldon Hilker of Cambridge, NE. After retiring from farming they moved to Lakewood, CO where Lois managed an apartment complex.&nbsp; They later moved to North Platte where Lois managed Buffalo Bill Manor for a number of years.

Lois was diagnosed with Alzheimers in 1995 and resided in assisted living since that time.&nbsp; She continued to bring much joy to her family and those who knew her.

Survivors include her son, Daryl (Tatia) Peck of Spring Hill, FL. and daughters, Dawn (Marvin) Howery and April Peck-Brown of North Platte and Kandy Peck of Omaha. Also a son-in-law, Steve Gier of Wallace; 19 grandchildren, Angela (Cory) Morris of Gering, NE, Bryan ( Andrea) Poltack of Grand Island, Sarah (Matthew) Ihrig of Lincoln, Brad (Tami) Howery of North Platte, Amy Howery of North Platte, Terri (Zach) Davis of Prescott, AZ, Laura (Patrick) Haddix of Kearney, Nicole (Marcus) Harvey of Kearney, Stephanie ( Chad) Russell of Gretna, Sabrina (Mark) Schwenk of Omaha, Danny Peck of Seattle,WA, Kayla (KC) Craven of Omaha, Maggie Meier of Omaha, Dane Peck of Omaha, Tiara Peck of Spring Hill, FL, Donald (Amber) Morrissey of North Platte, Amanda Peck of North Platte, and Kevin Legas of Kearney; and 31 great-grandchildren, special family member, Christine Zade of Hershey; along with several nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Peck; her daughter, Robin Gier; her grandson, Aaron Gier; her son-in-law, Doug Brown; her parents and siblings, Leonard Harris, Corene Cornelius, Selma Tyson and Alma Dailey.

Shirley “Sue” Burr age 66 of Burwell, NE passed away Friday, May 29, 2020 in Broken Bow, NE

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter.&nbsp; Sue cared and loved her family with compassion, love, and unwavering devotion.&nbsp; She was the rock and the guiding light of her family.&nbsp; She always reserved a special place in her heart for her grandchildren who brought her so much joy and happiness.

Sue was born and raised in New Meadows, Idaho.&nbsp; She later moved to Colorado where she met and married the love of her life Grant Burr.&nbsp; They were married for 35 years.&nbsp; Her family lived and worked in several states in agriculture before settling at their home near Taylor, NE.

Sue loved the mountains and the forests.&nbsp; She loved Christmas and Halloween very much.&nbsp; She always went out of her way to make the holidays very special for her family.&nbsp; She enjoyed camping, fishing, and playing cards with her family and best friends April and Leonard.&nbsp; She was an amazing cook.&nbsp; She loved making crafts especially for the holidays.&nbsp; This hobby she shared with her mother.&nbsp; She was very passionate about her children’s' sports activities and was often their biggest and loudest fan.

Sue was preceded in death by her mother (Shirley Billman, stepfather (Vern Billman) and her sister (Penny Gleixner). 

She is survived by her husband Grant, son Morgan, daughter Lacey and son-in-law Shane, grandchildren Hayden, Neelie, Kaylarose, and Caleb. Her father Bob Gleixner and stepmother Valai Gleixner, and two brothers Jim and Bill Gleixner. Her best friends April and Leonard Dyer and many nieces and nephews.

She was a light in this world to those who loved and knew her and will be very missed by her family and friends.

Shirley 'Sue' Burr (1954-2020

Wilda J. McCaslin age 93 of Broken Bow, NE passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020 at the Brookestone View in Broken Bow, NE.

Wilda was born September 9, 1926 at Overton, NE the daughter of Lloyd and Leta (Chesmore) Dunn.

Wilda received her education at Kearney State College and was a country elementary school teacher until her marriage to Virgil McCaslin April 26, 1952 in Broken Bow.&nbsp; They farmed in the Broken Bow area until the untimely death of Virgil in 1974.

Wilda enjoyed being outdoors and working in the garden.&nbsp; She was a member of Methodist Church Guild.
