&nbsp;&nbsp; Doretta J (McBride) Anderson was born in Imperial, Nebraska on May 30, 1941 to Robert and Lola (Stinnette) McBride. Doretta passed away Monday,&nbsp; August 12, 2024. She was 83 years old.

&nbsp; &nbsp; Doretta attended school in Wauneta, Nebraska and graduated high school with the class of 1958. Doretta then attended Nebraska Wesleyan University where she studied business. Doretta married Harold “Peco” Anderson on February 13, 1960. To this union two sons were born, Andrew R. and Hugh L.&nbsp; Doretta was employed by the Village of Wauneta for over 40 years. Peco and Doretta enjoyed spending time together road tripping to various casinos throughout the country. They also enjoyed attending Husker football games. Most of all, they dearly loved attending their grandsons’ events throughout the years. Doretta had passion for reading books, completing sudoku and crossword puzzles, spending time in her garden and volunteering at the Wauneta Senior Center.

&nbsp; &nbsp; Doretta was preceded in death by her husband Harold “Peco”, son Andrew, parents Robert and Lola, brothers-in-law: Ted Anderson, Robert Morris, Richard Nordhausen, and Gary “Butch” Doetker; sisters-in-law: Carolyn Anderson, Diana “Sis” Doetker and Willa McBride.

JARED T. SATTERFIELD, 43, of Ogallala, passed away on August 8, 2024.

Jared Satterfield was born in Provo, Utah, on August 16, 1980, to Todd and Jennifer (Gross) Satterfield. He graduated from Sarasota High School in Florida with the Class of 1999.

On July 30, 2005, Jared was united in marriage to Julie Walker. The couple would make their home in Firestone, Colorado, where Jared worked in insulation sales for many years, specializing in new construction projects throughout the Denver area. The Satterfields enjoyed spending weekends at Lake McConaughy, eventually purchasing a home there and moving to Ogallala three years ago.

Jared was known for his quiet, witty demeanor, often marked by his dry, sarcastic humor. He loved speaking in movie quotes, being at the lake, and cheering on the Denver Broncos. Though he was reserved and preferred the background to the spotlight, he was fiercely loyal to his friends. He cherished his family deeply. In 2012, Jared gave his life to Jesus, which was the best thing he ever did.

Jared was preceded in death by his mother, Jennifer Rauchfuss, and his grandmother, Judith Gross.

Survivors include his wife and daughter, Julie and Kate Satterfield of Ogallala; his father, Todd Satterfield; his siblings, Jon Satterfield, Graham (Marty) Satterfield, and Jenee (Josh) Reynolds; his aunt, Julie Becker; his cousin, Jenna Crofts; his best friend and brother of the heart, Jeremy Wilhelm; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives, and friends.

&nbsp; &nbsp; Sherry Waline (Weber) Cotton, age 88, passed peacefully into heaven surrounded by all her children on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook, Nebraska. She was a caring, faithful person loved by all who had the joy of knowing her.

Born on February 24, 1936, in McCook, Nebraska to Walter &amp; Lucille (Wagner) Weber, she spent her youth in McCook attending various primary schools before graduating from McCook High School in 1954.

&nbsp; &nbsp; Sherry married her first husband in the fall of 1954 in McCook, Nebraska and worked at Hestad’s Variety Store, Sears, and was the bookkeeper for McCook Packing Plant. After 11 years this marriage ended.

&nbsp; &nbsp; On November 18, 1965, Sherry married Paul Cotton in McCook and became a loving mother to his three children Dale, Judy and Jane. To this union were born three additional children, David, Patricia, and Sonya. The family lived on a farm south of McCook until moving to Missouri in 1967, settling in Coffey, Missouri in 1971. She was a homemaker who also enjoyed watching several of the neighborhood children. Sherry loved cooking and baking and was well known in the community for her cinnamon rolls. She spent time in many kitchens over the years having owned Cotton’s Café, cooking at the Gallatin Senior Center, Coffey School, McCook Senior Center, and Kinship Pointe. She also enjoyed volunteering and delivered meals on wheels, drove the Handi bus, and made lap blankets for the elderly.

&nbsp; &nbsp; Through the entirety of her life, Sherry was very strong in her faith and lived her life devoted to God. She read her bible every day and attended church every Sunday for as long as she was able.

&nbsp; &nbsp; One of Sherry’s greatest loves was spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and traveling with her sister, Jean Elley. Over the years Sherry lived near her family in Missouri, Iowa, and ended up returning to McCook, Nebraska in 2018.

&nbsp; &nbsp; Sherry was preceded in death by her Husband; Parents; Sister, Genevieve Kuck, Sisters-in-law, Lucille Stitt, Juanita Weber, and Henrietta Weber; Brothers-in-law, Bruce Kuck, Glen Stitt, and Bill Elley; Nephews, Tim Elley, Bob Fouts, and Keith Weber.

Sherry W. Cotton (1936-2024)

Janice Jorgenson, 83, of Gothenburg, NE, peacefully passed away at Hilltop Estates, surrounded by her loving family on August 11, 2024. She was born in Holdrege, Nebraska, on September 6, 1940, to her parents Harlan and Velda Welch.

Janice's journey of life was filled with profound experiences and meaningful connections. She attended District 29, south of Cozad, and graduated from Cozad High School with the class of 1958. Janice embarked on her professional career at Paulsen Building and Supply after high school. Janice's most important and rewarding job was being a full time mother and farm wife. When her children got older she transitioned to working at Parker Hannifin.

On March 5, 1961, at Cozad Parkview Methodist Church, Janice exchanged vows with the love of her life, Gary Jorgenson; their union was blessed with five children: Robert, Barbara, Bradly, Brent and Bryce. Janice's devotion to her family was immeasurable, and her legacy will forever live on through her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.&nbsp;

She cherished the relationships she cultivated throughout her life, including her involvement with the Etna/New Hope and Rock Island Extension Clubs, and her active participation in the DORCUS Society in New Hope community, and at Cornerstone Bible church, where she shared her musical talents by playing the organ for many years.

Janice is survived by her husband Gary, children, Robert (Jill), Bradly (Elizabeth), Brent (Carie), Bryce (Becky), 17 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two more on the way, two brothers, Jerry Welch, and Joe (Rose) Welch, two brothers-in-law, Charles (Cindy) Jorgenson and Neil (Suzie) Jorgenson; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Janice was proceeded in death by her parents, Harlan and Velda Welch, and her daughter Barbara Nelson, sister-in-law Pat Welch and brother-in-law Richard (Molly) Jorgenson.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 1:00-7:00-pm with the family present from 4:00-6:00 pm.&nbsp;

Funeral services will be held at Cornerstone Bible Church, 1721 Lake Ave, Gothenburg, NE, on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, 10:30 am, with Pastor Scott Newman officiating.

Janice Jorgenson (1940-2024)

Marjorie M. (Smith) Schneider, 89, of Callaway, NE died peacefully August 10, 2024 at the Perkins County Hospital in Grant, NE surrounded by her family. Marjorie was born July 8, 1935 in Kearney, NE to James and Bessie (Vangreen) Smith of rural Callaway. She was named for Marjorie (Stryker) Edgington, a country school teacher who had boarded with her parents. Marjorie attended Sand Valley Country School through 8th grade across the road from the farm where she lived since age eight, west of Callaway. She then attended Callaway High School where she graduated in 1952 as Valedictorian. Having taken normal teacher training during high school, Marjorie taught at a country school west of Callaway for a year after graduating in order to save money to go to college. She then attended Kearney State College to become a teacher. Marjorie filled in for a teacher on maternity leave in January 1955 in Cozad. She taught 1st grade at Cozad for a year and a half. She had planned to take a teaching job in Minden, but met the love of her life, Alex W. Schneider of Cozad. They were married August 11, 1956 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Callaway. Marjorie taught 4th grade in Cozad for another year before she and Alex moved home to Marjorie’s family farm west of Callaway.&nbsp;

After Marjorie’s father passed away in 1956, Marjorie and Alex farmed and ranched and raised their three children on the same homestead where Marjorie was raised. Marjorie returned to Kearney State College and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 1969. She taught 5th grade at Callaway from 1969 to 1996. Marjorie was a substitute teacher at Callaway Elementary School for several years after she retired. Marjorie was also a voracious reader. She read scripture daily and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. Marjorie devoted her life to loving her family and helping people at school, at church and in the community of Callaway.

In 1986, Alex and Marjorie received the Nebraska Pioneer Farm Award from Knights of AK-SAR-BEN honoring the Edward Smith Homestead, whose family owned the same farm for 100 years, thus contributing a century of loyal service to the development of Nebraska agriculture.

Marjorie and Alex enjoyed fishing and socializing with their friends at Van’s Lakeview at Lake McConaughy until 2019. Marjorie received Master Angler awards for catching a qualifying white bass in 1995 and walleye in 1999. Alex and Marjorie also enjoyed traveling across the United States as well as to Mexico, El Salvador, Rome and Germany. Marjorie was famous for baking cookies and zucchini bread for friends and family. She also canned vegetables from their enormous garden.&nbsp;

&nbsp;After her husband Alex passed away Marjorie moved to Park Ridge Assisted Living in Grant, NE to be closer to her daughters. She enjoyed getting cards, letters, phone calls and visits from friends and family. She liked to watch Husker Volleyball and Let’s Make A Deal on TV. Marjorie was a lifetime member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the Callaway American Legion Auxiliary Post 59.

 </figure>Marjorie M. (Smith) Schneider, 89, of Callaway, NE died peacefully August 10, 2024 at the Perkins County Hospital in Grant, NE surrounded by her family. Marjorie was born July 8, 1935 in Kearney, NE to James and Bessie (Vangreen) Smith of rural Callaway. She was named for Marjorie (Stryker) Edgington, a country school teacher who had boarded with her parents. Marjorie attended Sand Valley Country School through 8th grade across the road from the farm where she lived since age eight, west of Callaway. She then attended Callaway High School where she graduated in 1952 as Valedictorian. Having taken normal teacher training during high school, Marjorie taught at a country school west of Callaway for a year after graduating in order to save money to go to college. She then attended Kearney State College to become a teacher. Marjorie filled in for a teacher on maternity leave in January 1955 in Cozad. She taught 1st grade at Cozad for a year and a half. She had planned to take a teaching job in Minden, but met the love of her life, Alex W. Schneider of Cozad. They were married August 11, 1956 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Callaway. Marjorie taught 4th grade in Cozad for another year before she and Alex moved home to Marjorie’s family farm west of Callaway.&nbsp;After Marjorie’s father passed away in 1956, Marjorie and Alex farmed and ranched and raised their three children on the same homestead where Marjorie was raised. Marjorie returned to Kearney State College and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 1969. She taught 5th grade at Callaway from 1969 to 1996. Marjorie was a substitute teacher at Callaway Elementary School for several years after she retired. Marjorie was also a voracious reader. She read scripture daily and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. Marjorie devoted her life to loving her family and helping people at school, at church and in the community of Callaway.In 1986, Alex and Marjorie received the Nebraska Pioneer Farm Award from Knights of AK-SAR-BEN honoring the Edward Smith Homestead, whose family owned the same farm for 100 years, thus contributing a century of loyal service to the development of Nebraska agriculture.Marjorie and Alex enjoyed fishing and socializing with their friends at Van’s Lakeview at Lake McConaughy until 2019. Marjorie received Master Angler awards for catching a qualifying white bass in 1995 and walleye in 1999. Alex and Marjorie also enjoyed traveling across the United States as well as to Mexico, El Salvador, Rome and Germany. Marjorie was famous for baking cookies and zucchini bread for friends and family. She also canned vegetables from their enormous garden.&nbsp;&nbsp;After her husband Alex passed away Marjorie moved to Park Ridge Assisted Living in Grant, NE to be closer to her daughters. She enjoyed getting cards, letters, phone calls and visits from friends and family. She liked to watch Husker Volleyball and Let’s Make A Deal on TV. Marjorie Marie Schneider (1935-2024)

Frederick ‘Fred’ Dean Morrison, age 84, of O’Neill, died Sunday, August 11, 2024, at home surrounded by family. Fred was born on April 27, 1940 in Arnold, Nebraska to George E. and Dorothy M. (Booker) Morrison.

Fred grew up and attended schools in Callaway; Arnold; Lawton, Oklahoma; and Kimball. He graduated from Callaway High School. On July 12, 1958, he married Marilyn Spangler in Callaway. Fred enjoyed all sports and played football, basketball and ran track. Fred started his working career with the Jorgeson Well Company in Callaway, he also worked on an oil rig. In 1963, he started working for the Kansas Nebraska Natural Gas company in Sargent. His time with the gas company took him and his family to Broken Bow, Ainsworth, Randolph and O’Neill. He retired from the gas company in 1998 as regional manager.&nbsp;

Fred was a member of the Bassett Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad serving several years as the Fire Chief. Fred enjoyed playing golf in the summer and bowling in the winter. After retirement, he enjoyed model railroading and his grandkids fondly remember him as Grandpa Choo-Choo.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Marilyn; children, Keith (Alicia) Morrison of Nebraska City, Daniel (Debbie) Morrison of Bassett, Glen (Marcy) Morrison of Omaha, and Dale (Kristin) Morrison of Randolph; 13 grandchildren; 14 (plus one on the way) great-grandchildren; and brother, Robert (Pam) Morrison of Loveland, Colorado.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Donna (Jerald) Cantrell; great granddaughters, Ember and Estel (Grant and Carly Morrison’s daughters).

His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the Callaway Rose Hill Cemetery with Pastor Karla Sheffy, officiating.

&nbsp; &nbsp; Kenneth L. "Ken" Dugger passed away unexpectedly at his home in McCook, NE on August 7, 2024 at the age of 77. He was born September 29, 1946 in McCook to Jack Dugger and Geri (Dolan) Dugger. He spent his youth in Cambridge, NE, and later obtained his higher education in Stoneham, CO.

&nbsp; &nbsp; Ken entered the United States Army in 1965 and was honorably discharged in 1967. He was a proud Veteran, serving in an Army field artillery unit during Vietnam.

&nbsp; &nbsp; Ken married Carol Wilson on September 26, 1968 in McCook. The young couple soon moved to Greeley, CO where Ken opened two Texaco service stations with his Dad. Later, the family moved to Forest Grove, OR where Ken worked as a mechanic for Hamby Chevrolet until the family returned to McCook in 1983. Ken then worked for Klein's Motor &amp; Electric, before moving to Parker Hannifin until his retirement in 2008.

&nbsp; &nbsp; Ken was a lifetime member of the VFW, Men's Bowling Association, past member of the McCook Elk's Lodge, and past president of the Forest Grove Youth Baseball and Junior Baseball Association. He loved hunting, and later loved fishing, boating, and camping with his family.

&nbsp; &nbsp; Ken leaves behind his wife of nearly 56 years, Carol (Wilson) Dugger. He is survived by his son, Kenneth L. Dugger, Jr. and wife, Christy; his daughter, Stacey Dugger Samples and husband, Chris; and five grandchildren: Seth, Adam, Miranda and her husband, Garrick, Ellie, and Elijah. He also had the joy of knowing his two great-granddaughters, Olivia and Mackenzie. Ken's sister, Joann Taylor and husband, Richard; brother-in-law, Richard Wilson and wife, Jean; sister-in-law, Betty Leibrandt; sister-in-law, Julee Wilson; special friends, Terry and Jana Sides and Dick and Claudia Stanton; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

On August 10, 2024, Dean Arthur Henrickson passed away at Linden Court in North Platte. &nbsp;He was born the only son of four children to Arthur and Edna (Deavers) Henrickson in Kimball, NE, on July 31, 1948.

In 1966, Dean graduated from Kimball County High School and went on to pursue and earn his Bachelor’s in Geological Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO. &nbsp;After this huge accomplishment, he went to work in the mines as a mining engineer in Edgemont, SD. It was here that he met Debbie Gray; the couple married and had two children, Abigail and Eric. &nbsp;The family returned to Kimball where Dean worked for his dad’s business, Western Office Supplies. &nbsp;They then made their home in Hershey, NE and Dean worked as a salesman for Xerox. The couple decided to pursue different paths and separated. &nbsp;In 2015, Dean retired from Twin Rivers Testing &amp; Environmental where he tested local construction materials. &nbsp;

Dean was known as a talker; in fact, if at any point, you happened to walk past him, he probably had a joke or story to tell you. &nbsp;As most are, he could also be stubborn and could be described as a carbon copy of his dad. &nbsp;Dean played the trombone in the Summer Band and with the Sandhills Symphony. &nbsp;He was a member of the Gideon’s, a club he thoroughly enjoyed participating in, and he was a proud attendee of Sunrise Rotary. &nbsp;Being an outdoorsman, he had lifelong hobbies that included camping and fishing trips. &nbsp;He was a lover of the mountains and always kept a pristine yard.

Dean is survived by his children, Abby (Frederick) Holliday of Custer, SD, and Eric (Monica) Henrickson of Cozad; grandchildren, Anthony, Alex, Taylor, Faith, and Aaron; sisters, Joyce Zimmerman of Minden, IA, Nancy (Peter) Salter of Phoenix, AZ, and Kathy (Ralph) Anderson of Minitare, NE; close companions, Barb Minard, James Hassett, and the Dan Ewald family; other family and friends.

Sunbeam Pauline Swanson, formerly of Arnold, Nebraska, passed away in her sleep on July 29, 2024, in her independent living apartment in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 91 years, 5 months and 20 days.&nbsp;

Sunbeam was born on February 9, 1933, in her parents' home in Elim Valley south of Arnold, Nebraska, to Harry and Lettie Oman. When she was a little girl, Sunbeam's parents bought nearby farmland and built a home on the edge of Tallin Table. Sunbeam attended the Tallin country school, graduated from Arnold High School in 1950, attended Grace College of the Bible for the next school year, and taught at the Tallin country school for the following school year.&nbsp;

On June 4, 1952, Sunbeam married Don Swanson (Don died on June 1, 2024 — 3 days short of their 72nd wedding anniversary). To this union 2 children were born, Pauline and Donald Lee. They made their home north of Cozad until Don was drafted into the Army and sent to Germany. Sunbeam and the children joined him there for 17 months. When Don was discharged from the Army, they moved back to their home north of Cozad. Then, in 1959 they built a new home south of Arnold, where they lived for the next 60 years.&nbsp;

Sunbeam received Christ as her personal Savior as a young girl. She attended the Tallin Church and as a teenager was part of the young peoples singing group known as the Crusaders. As she became an adult, she taught children's and young people's Sunday School classes. She and Don attended the Morning Star Church while living north of Cozad and then Tallin Church after moving to south of Arnold. Sunbeam was the organist at Tallin Church for 50 years.&nbsp;

Sunbeam was busy as a mother and homemaker. In 1975, Sunbeam started a business out of their home installing window treatments in homes and in businesses like banks, nursing homes and hospitals. Sunbeam continued that business for 38 years. Don was busy with his cattle and farming but took the time to help Sunbeam with her window treatment business.&nbsp;

Nothing gave Don and Sunbeam more joy than their family. Pauline married Duane Norman, and Donald Lee married Marilyn Landis. They blessed Don and Sunbeam with 5 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Their family always found the time to be together. Each one was very special to Don and Sunbeam.&nbsp;

Besides seeing family and getting together with friends, Don and Sunbeam enjoyed traveling. Over their married life, they took 19 tours in the United States and overseas. Their last tour was to Israel, which they always said was the best tour they took. It was so meaningful to walk where Jesus walked and to be baptized in the Jordon where Jesus was baptized.&nbsp;

Sunbeam was preceded in death by her husband, Don Swanson, her parents, Harry and Lettie Oman, her father- and mother-in-law, Carl and Ruth Swanson, and brother-in-law, Russell Brodhead. Sunbeam's survivors include: daughter Pauline Norman (Duane), son Donald Lee Swanson (Marilyn), grandchildren Janelle Weitzenkamp (Jon), Jonathan Norman (Desirae), Jamie Watson (David), Justin Swanson (Mandy), Grant Showalter-Swanson (Connor), 16 great-grandchildren, and sister Frances Brodhead.&nbsp;

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 5200 R Street, Lincoln, Nebraska.&nbsp;

Funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Tallin Church located on Hwy 40, 11 miles south and 2.1 miles east of Arnold, Nebraska (also, 25 miles north and 2.1 miles east of Gothenburg, Nebraska).&nbsp;

Then, in 1959 they built a new home south of Arnold, where they lived for the next 60 years.&nbsp;Sunbeam received Christ as her personal Savior as a young girl. She attended the Tallin Church and as a teenager was part of the young peoples singing group known as the Crusaders. As she became an adult, she taught children's and young people's Sunday School classes. She and Don attended the Morning Star Church while living north of Cozad and then Tallin Church after moving to south of Arnold. Sunbeam was the organist at Tallin Church for 50 years.&nbsp;Sunbeam was busy as a mother and homemaker. In 1975, Sunbeam started a business out of their home installing window treatments in homes and in businesses like banks, nursing homes and hospitals. Sunbeam continued that business for 38 years. Don was busy with his cattle and farming but took the time to help Sunbeam with her window treatment business.&nbsp;Nothing gave Don and Sunbeam more joy than their family. Pauline married Duane Norman, and Donald Lee married Marilyn Landis. They blessed Don and Sunbeam with 5 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Their family always found the time to be together. Each one was very special to Don and Sunbeam.&nbsp;Besides seeing family and getting together with friends, Don and Sunbeam enjoyed traveling. Over their married life, they took 19 tours in the United States and overseas. Their last tour was to Israel, which they always said was the best tour they took. It was so meaningful to walk where Jesus walked and to be baptized in the Jordon where Jesus was baptized.&nbsp;Sunbeam was preceded in death by her husband, Don Swanson, her parents, Harry and Lettie Oman, her father- and mother-in-law, Carl and Ruth Swanson, and brother-in-law, Russell Brodhead. Sunbeam's survivors include: daughter Pauline Norman (Duane), son Donald Lee Swanson (Marilyn), grandchildren Janelle Weitzenkamp (Jon), Jonathan Norman (Desirae), Jamie Watson (David), Justin Swanson (Mandy), Grant Showalter-Swanson (Connor), 16 great-grandchildren, and sister Frances Brodhead.&nbsp;Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 5200 R Street, Lincoln, Nebraska.&nbsp;Funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Tallin Church located on Hwy 40, 11 miles south and 2.1 miles east of Arnold, Nebraska (also, 25 miles north and 2.1 miles east of Gothenburg, Nebraska).&nbsp;For memorial gifts, the family has chosen Tallin Church, 41196 NE-40, Gothenburg, NE 69138.

Sunbeam Swanson (1933-2024)

Karen Eileen Davison of Lincoln, NE passed away at home on Monday, July 29, 2024. Karen was born on April 28, 1956, to John and Barbara (McGahan) Olivigni in Oxford, NE. The family eventually moved to Lewellen, NE where she attended public schools and graduated from LRHS in May 1974.

In June, 1972, Karen met her future husband, Larry Davison, at a cattle branding located near Oshkosh, NE. Larry joined the Army in March 1973. Karen and Larry were married in Ogallala, NE on June 15, 1974. They made their first home together at Ft. Bliss Texas (El Paso) until January 1975. Larry received orders to report to Camp Humphreys, South Korea in December 1974 and Karen went with him and they stayed in Korea for 14 months.

They returned to Ogallala in 1976 and later moved to North Platte. On January 22, 1981, they welcomed their daughter Alyssa Ann Davison into this world.&nbsp;Shortly after, they moved to Ft. Sill, OK so Larry could attend more military&nbsp;training. After the training they moved back to North Platte until the spring of&nbsp;1982, when Karen, Larry and Alyssa moved to Chadron NE to attend college. Karen and Larry both graduated from CSC in December, 1985. Karen graduated with summa cum laude honors.

While Larry was attending another military school at Ft. Sill, OK, in 1986, Karen got a job with the Social Security Administration in Lawton, OK. Eventually, she applied and was hired by SSA in Lincoln, NE and they moved to Lincoln in 1987. In 2011, Karen retired from SSA and went to work for a local law firm until Larry retired and they moved to Clermont, FL. It was always her dream to live by the ocean and that is what she did for three years. Eventually they moved back to Lincoln to be with family, friends and doctors in 2023.

Karen enjoyed traveling, gardening, attending concerts, with Bon Jovi being at the top of the list. She and Larry attended two Bon Jovi concerts during the same weekend a few years ago. Karen and Larry loved Disney World and visited as often as they could. Karen was especially proud of the medal she earned for completing the Walt Disney World half-marathon. She also liked visiting Sunken Gardens in Lincoln, reading, spending time at the beach with her two sisters each&nbsp;year, playing board and card games and was a skilled Mahjongg player, playing online and in local groups in Florida and Nebraska. She also was a member of a local bible study group in Lincoln. She was an avid supporter of the Hearts United for Animals in Auburn, NE. Karen liked dogs and absolutely loved her Pomeranian, Riley!

Karen is proceeded in death by her parents, father-in-law Clarence Davison, brother-in-law Don Davison, and sister-in-law Pearl Davison.

Those she left behind are her husband Larry, daughter Alyssa and fiancé Mathew Kister, Riley (Pomeranian), sisters Lisa Olivigni, Lorna (Steve) Triplett, brother Fran (Lynne) Olivigni, mother-in-law Doris Imogene Davison, and brothers-in-law Rod Davison, Steve (Kay) Davison, Kevin Davison, Kent (Jeannine) Davison, and Monte (Shawna) Davison, many nieces and nephews, and many good friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at Carpenter Memorial Chapel on 10:00 am August 16, 2024 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jeremy Rinke officiating. Carpenter Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.

Inurnment will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery.

Karen Davison (1956-2024)

TIMOTHY H. SCHULZ, 62, of Ogallala, passed away on August 5, 2024, at the Methodist Hospital of Omaha.

Tim was born January 4, 1962, in Sidney, Nebraska, to Henry and Louise (Pieper) Schulz. He graduated from Ogallala High School. He briefly attended UNL, where he studied engineering.

On October 23, 1982, Tim married Mindy Mueller at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Ogallala. The couple made their home in Ogallala and were blessed with two girls: Timarie and Tiffany.

Tim worked as a truck driver and mover for Chief Transfer and Storage for a number of years. The company was owned by his parents, and Tim appreciated the time he spent with them over the years. In 2002, Tim became disabled, and his health necessitated a change of pace.

Tim loved his family and grandchildren immensely. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish with his dogs. He had a gentle heart and a great love of animals. He had a particular soft spot for dogs and always kept one or two hunting dogs. Tim also had many horses over the years and loved to spend time riding. He enjoyed swimming, boating, and skiing and always treasured his time spent at the lake, whether for the weekend or just sneaking away for part of the day to go windsurfing.

Tim was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church, where he had served as a lector and was a member of the Knights of Columbus before his health issues.

Tim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mindy, in 2019; his parents and parents-in-law; brother-in-law Jonathan Proudfit; sister-in-law Barb Mueller; and niece, Jessica Eidem.

Survivors include his daughters, Timarie (Ryan) Tushner of Fremont and Tiffany Schulz (Adam Heiden) of Lincoln; grandchildren Tanner, Timberlin, Teakyn, and Tyla Tushner; siblings, Liz (Steve) Johnson of Burwell, Barb Schulz of Omaha, and Ernie (Kelly) Schulz of Ozark, MO; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Timothy Henry Schulz (1962-2024)

Clyde Allan Barry, 89, of Venango, passed away on August 9, 2024, at the Regent Park Nursing Home in Holyoke.

Clyde was born April 7, 1935, in Ovid, Colorado, to Wilbur and Susan (Keime) Barry. He graduated from Sedgwick High School with the class of 1954.

On July 19, 1956, Clyde married Shirley E. Henni at her parents' home in Venango. The couple made their home in Venango and were blessed with four children: Steve, David, Kathy, and Sheri.

Clyde worked for the Perkins County Department of Roads for over 40 years, most of which as District 3 Foreman. Clyde retired at the age of 73 and immensely enjoyed following his grandchildren in all of their endeavors.

Clyde was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Venango. He was a longtime member of the Venango Volunteer Fire Department, where he had served for 40 years.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Sheri Bazan, and grandson, James Arias.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Shirley of Venango; children Steve (Theresa) Barry of Ogallala, David (Jill) Barry of Grant, and Kathy (Joe) Arias of Greeley, CO; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild on the way; sister Shirley A. Barry of Sterling, CO; and several cousins and other relatives.

Clyde Allan Barry (1935-2024)

Sheri Ann Steadman Boggs, 55, of Commerce City, Colorado, died peacefully in her sleep on August 10, 2024.

Sheri, who was nick-named Uggie Pie, by her Grandpa Feathers, was born on February 27th 1969. She was an adorable baby who came precisely as ordered by me, her big sister, from the Sears catalog.

As a child, Sheri loved imaginative toys, like Barbies and baby dolls. As a teenager and young adult, she was always ready for fun. During the summer, her favorite place to be was on the beach at the lake (but never near a forest—because bears live in forests).

Sheri loved the holidays and was a thoughtful gift-giver, but her favorite holiday was Halloween. Even as an adult, she and Nicole enjoyed dressing up for Halloween parties and participating in Zombie crawls.

Sheri was a single mom and her boys say she was the best mom ever. No matter how hard things were she always made every holiday and birthday extra special. Whether it was bouncing houses, dances, or whatever, she always “killed it.”

Sheri built a career working with adults with disabilities in various roles over the past 14 years and her parents are very proud of her accomplishments.

For the past 7 years, Sheri was devoted to being a host home provider for adults with disabilities, opening the home she and Nicole shared.

Sheri was the caring mother of two adult sons, Joe and Curt, as well as a few four-legged fur babies. She loved them all fiercely. Most recently, she was excited to finally be a grandma, to baby Ryan.

Sheri leaves behind her partner of 16 years, Nicole Conley, her sons Joseph Boggs and Curtis Boggs, grandson Ryan Boggs (son of Curtis), her parents Warren and Jennifer Steadman, her brother-in-law and sister Shawn and Kelly Davis, nieces Megan Kennedy, Shawna McFadden, and Chelsea Maguire, her aunts Susan Miller-Edman , Cindy Darnell and Nancy Nevis, her uncles Bob Feathers, Stephen Steadman and Brian Steadman and her cousins Diana Sibayan, Chris Sibayban, Elizabeth Leeka and Shelly Carlson.

Sheri was preceded in death by her grandparents Warren and Velma Steadman and Robert and Genevieve Feathers.

Rather than a traditional funeral, Sheri wished for family and friends to celebrate her life with a barbecue cook out. You will be missed, my sweet little sister. Love, Kelly

Sheri Ann Steadman Boggs (1969-2024)

Doyle&nbsp;McDougal of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away at home surrounded by his family on August 9, 2024, at age 77.

Doyle, the son of Lyndon and Kathryn McDougal, was born September 16, 1946, in Colby, Kansas. &nbsp;He grew up working with his older brother and dad on the family farm in Atwood, Kansas. &nbsp;Doyle later graduated from Goodland, Kansas Vo-Tech as an auto body technician. &nbsp;

In February of 1968, Doyle was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. &nbsp;After his honorable discharge he returned to Kansas where he owned Doyle's Body Shop in Atwood for a few years.&nbsp;

On November 30, 1985, Doyle married Imogene Long in Atwood, KS. &nbsp;They became a family with Imogene's son, Marshall Siruta, then were blessed with a daughter, Sheila. The family lived in Atwood before moving to Lexington where Doyle worked for Tenneco in Cozad until the plant closed.

Their retirement years were spent in Valentine, then North Platte to be close to their daughter and her family. &nbsp;Doyle was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. &nbsp;He enjoyed working on cars, going camping, and spoiling his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene; his parents, Lyndon and Kathryn McDougal; and brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Deanna McDougal.

Doyle is survived by his daughter, Sheila Newland (Jeffrey) of North Platte; stepson, Marshall Siruta of Goodland, KS; grandsons, Nicholas, Nathan, Carter and Caleb Newland; step-granddaughters, Megan Unger (Mitch) of Oberlin, KS, and Jordan Doetker of Culbertson; his sisters, Lynda Wendelin (Lawrence) of Gothenburg and Eunice Dillinger (Don) of Ellis, KS; and many nieces, nephews and other family.

 </figure>Doyle&nbsp;McDougal of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away at home surrounded by his family on August 9, 2024, at age 77.Doyle, the son of Lyndon and Kathryn McDougal, was born September 16, 1946, in Colby, Kansas. &nbsp;He grew up working with his older brother and dad on the family farm in Atwood, Kansas. &nbsp;Doyle later graduated from Goodland, Kansas Vo-Tech as an auto body technician. &nbsp;In February of 1968, Doyle was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. &nbsp;After his honorable discharge he returned to Kansas where he owned Doyle's Body Shop in Atwood for a few years.&nbsp;On November 30, 1985, Doyle married Imogene Long in Atwood, KS. &nbsp;They became a family with Imogene's son, Marshall Siruta, then were blessed with a daughter, Sheila. Doyle McDougal (1946-2024)

Bruce Andrew Gordon, 85, of North Platte passed away August 7, 2024 at his home, with family by his side. He was born December 15, 1938 to Billie and Thelma (Bandy) Gordon in Alliance, NE.

Bruce was raised in the Rackett community of Garden County where he attended rural schools, and graduated from Lewellen Rural High School in 1956. Bruce married Carol Benzen on August 25th, 1957. Bruce worked for his family’s ranch, a few other ranches and a fencing contractor, living in Nebraska, Wyoming and Colorado. Bruce and Carol had three children, Pamela Sue, Timothy Bruce, and Polly Mae. In 1967, Bruce became a Brand Inspector for the State of Nebraska. He began working for the Brand Committee in Scottsbluff, and was relocated to Red Cloud, then Franklin, and later, North Platte. Cattlemen in the area valued his work ethic and ease of working their cattle. Bruce met his companion Anna Goodman in 1990, they shared many trail rides and their love for horses and dogs. He retired from the Nebraska Brand Committee at the age of 62. He may have been “retired” but he went to work as an estate caretaker for his neighbor and good friend, Kevin. Bruce loved being outdoors, his horses and pets, he took in strays and adopted quite a few rescue dogs, who became family members. He had a great love and respect for horses. He trained many, and had an excellent eye for a horse with a good mind and confirmation. His skills with horses were valued by those that knew him, and he spent many years sharing that knowledge with the local 4-H club. Bruce loved to fish and hunt, especially deer, antelope, pheasant, and duck. He and Tim took many week-long trips camping and fishing, and he hunted at the Newcastle Wyoming ranch where his Dad and brother lived for many years. Bruce loved attending rodeos, especially watching the athleticism of the animals, with a special affinity for the bucking bulls, bucking horses, and barrel horses. He took Polly to a 4H horse show, horse sale or rodeo, whenever he could. Bruce was very private and thoughtful, with always a smile for everyone.

Survivors include children, Tim (Rhonda) Gordon of Oakland, Arkansas, Polly (Clayton Colson) Dimmitt of Pierre, South Dakota; Grandchildren, Brenna and Gracie of Pierre; companion, Anna Goodman of North Platte; sibling, Linda Johnson of Cambridge; numerous other family members and friends.

&nbsp;Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Billie and Thelma; daughter, Pamela; brother, Gary.

Bruce Gordon (1938-2024)

Thomas L. Burrell, aged 92 of Max, Nebraska, passed away August 6, 2024, at the Imperial Manor in Imperial, Nebraska. Thomas was born on February 12, 1932, in Stratton, Nebraska, to parents Henry P. and Myrtle J. Clements Burrell. Thomas grew up near Max, Nebraska, where he attended school and graduated from Parks High School in 1950.

&nbsp;Tom enlisted in the U.S. Navy on February 13, 1951.&nbsp; He was assigned to the USS Scabbardfish SS 397. Tom was honorably discharged on February 11, 1955, and was very proud to have served his country.

&nbsp;Soon after his discharge from the service, Tom took a farm job near Oberlin, Kansas, where he met his future wife Glenva Beneda. Tom and Glenva were married on April 8, 1956, at the Methodist Church in Oberlin, Kansas. To this union, five children were born. The couple soon moved near to Max, Nebraska. Tom worked for Raichart Ranch then moved to McCook for a short time where he was employed with Permastone. In April of 1956, the couple moved to the George Russell farmstead and started farming. On September 14, 1958, the couple were blessed with their first child, a daughter Karmin and then followed by four sons: Monte, Todd, Clay and Clint. Tom’s greatest joys were spending time with his family. The family all worked together tending to the farm jobs. Tom spent many hours taking his young family fishing.

&nbsp;Tom and Glenva enjoyed their kids’ school and sports events, rarely missing anything they were involved in. Tom dearly loved his grandchildren and attended their school and sports activities when possible. Tom also enjoyed several of the grandsons and granddaughter helping on the farm at harvest time and putting up hay.

&nbsp;In 1972, Tom received the Outstanding Young Farmer award. Tom served on the Benkelman School Board for eight years as well as several other county boards. When he began to cut down on his farm work, he started on his woodworking, making many beautiful pieces of furniture and wall shelves for all of his family.&nbsp;

&nbsp;Tom was preceded in death by his parents, two half sisters Mary Selby and Louida Selby, his brother-in-law Harve Selby and an aunt and uncle Gladys and Horace Clements, who he lived with after his parents’ death.&nbsp;

&nbsp;Those left to celebrate Tom’s life are his wife Glenva of over 68 years, sons Monte (Julie) Burrell of Wauneta, NE, Todd (Julie) Burrell of Benkelman, NE, Clay Burrell of Benkelman, NE, Clint Burrell of Parks, NE, daughter Karmin (Cliff) Church of Rapid City, SD, two brothers-in-law Orlin and Elvin Beneda of Oberlin, KS, eight grandchildren Justin Church of Greeley, CO, Leah (Matt) Harris of Chadron, NE, Cade Burrell of Kearney, NE, Carson (Bethany) Burrell of Hickman, NE, Leslie (Trevor) Franzen of Salina, KS, Morgan (Jenna) Burrell of Benkelman, NE, Taryn Burrell of Cozad, NE, Nolan (Riley Bortner, girlfriend) of Kearney, NE, eight great grandchildren Gavin and Garrett Harris, Amelia, Ella, Olivia and Thomas Franzen, Charlotte and Ava Burrell.&nbsp;

&nbsp;Tom will be remembered as a man of deep faith who loved the Lord and his family. Tom’s recollections of his time in the navy and motorcycle adventures will be fondly remembered by his family.&nbsp;

Thomas L Burrell (1932-2024)

Anna M. Denisse, age 87, formerly of Ogallala Nebraska passed away Sunday, August 4th, 2024 in Miller Grove, Texas.&nbsp;

Anna was born to Karl and Klara (Kraus) Klein on September 15th, 1936 in Rammelsbach Germany, where she grew up and completed trade school to become a seamstress.&nbsp;

Anna met and married Shelton Denisse in Rammelsbach in 1954. He brought her to the United States one year later. One of her proudest accomplishments was becoming a United States citizen! Shelton’s military career took them to California, Colorado, North Carolina, and Frankfurt Germany before settling in Ogallala, Nebraska. She worked at TRW for several years and enjoyed babysitting.&nbsp;

Anna enjoyed cooking, shopping, playing cards, and animals. She loved going out to brunch with family and friends. She was active in the community and volunteered her time at the nursing home and church. She was a member of the Altar Society and Ladies Guild.&nbsp;

Anna is survived by four children, one sister, eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces.&nbsp;

She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one granddaughter, two grandsons, and one great-grandson.&nbsp;

Inurnment will take place at Ogallala Cemetery in Ogallala, Nebraska at a later date.

Paula Jeanne Patterson, 75 of North Platte, Nebraska passed away August 6, 2024 at Great Plains Health in North Platte. She was born December 29, 1948, to Benjamin and Myrtle (Remington) Adams in Portland, Oregon.

Paula graduated high school from Mary Crest in 1966, then graduating from nursing school in 1967. At 21 years old she was the youngest nursing home administrator in Oregon. She held that position for two years. On July 4, 1976 she was united in marriage to Gary Patterson in North Platte. To this union four sons were born; Eric, Curtis, John and Tom. She started the first Life Line Program in North Platte, worked for Home Health for many years and had the first hospice patient in North Platte. This family has been friends for over 30 years. She also taught Alzheimer’s classes to nurses and caregivers. Her last five years of nursing she was the jail nurse for Lincoln &amp; Keith counties. She had confidence in her ability and extreme pride in excellent care of her patients in her 44 years of nursing.

Paula will always be remembered as feisty, fun, stubborn, a tough patient (nurses make the worst patients) and very memorable to everyone who knew her. Paula was an avid Husker football fan and proud supporter and stockholder in the Green Bay Packers. She owns a share of the Green Bay Packers.

She is survived by her husband, Gary, North Platte, Nebraska; sons, Eric Patterson, Phoenix, Arizona; Curtis (Sidne) Patterson, North Platte, Nebraska, John Patterson, North Platte, Nebraska, Tom (Lori) Fuller, Kearney, Nebraska; daughters, Kristi (Tina Amling) Boehm; grandsons, John Patterson, Jr., and&nbsp;Arden Patterson; 1 brother; 3 sisters; mother-in-law, Alice Patterson. Along with other family members and friends.

Paula is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Colleen.
