North Platte, Neb. - Monster trucks are heading to the Lincoln County Raceway for the Monster Truck Mania event this Saturday. Saturday will feature two shows, the first one beginning at 1:00 and last until 3:00pm and the second show begins at 7:00pm and will go until 9:00pm. Drivers will compete in different events and will finish the night off in the freestyle.&nbsp;

Tickets are available for both shows but the first show is selling quickly. The second show on Saturday features a family package deal for $50, but tickets are selling quickly.&nbsp;

North Platte, Neb. - The West Central District Health Department is hosting an Overdose Awareness Walk and Narcan training/education this Saturday at the Centennial Park Gazebo. Registration begins at 7:45am with the Narcan training session at 8:15am and the walk set for 8:30am. During the training, folks will learn how to use a Narcan.&nbsp;

North Platte, Neb. - The Prairie Arts Center is gearing up for a fun-filled event this Saturday from 10:00am-4:00pm with plenty of activities for everyone to come out and enjoy. The morning session is filled with free classes for all skill levels to come out and enjoy. &nbsp;

Vendors and food trucks will also be on scene during the day. The Children's Museum will have chalk ready for the kids to enjoy. Starting around 1:00pm, amateur artists will take the stage and will have over an hour to paint a portrait.&nbsp;&nbsp;

North Platte, Neb. - Grab the lawn chairs and gear up for the 10th Annual Music on the Bricks event which is taking place Friday and Saturday in the Canteen District. Friday event will run from 7:00pm - 10:00pm and will feature Bases Loaded. On Saturday, the event will start at 6:00pm and will last until midnight. Saturday's show features the James Burke Trio, tunes from Jim Calhoun, Barb and Brenda and finally Platinum Pearls will end the nights.&nbsp;

Admission is $7 per person and children 12 and under are free. However, if using a credit card, a $1 processing fee will be added so it will be $8. Reminder to bring a lawn chair as seating is very limited.&nbsp;

North Platte, Neb. - The North Platte High School Skills USA chapter is gearing up to present the 2nd Annual Cars &amp; Crafts Show on Aug. 31st at the North Platte High School parking lot. The craft fair will run from 8:00am - 4:00pm and the car show runs from 8:00am - 3:00pm with awards at 2:30pm.&nbsp;

General admission for the event is canned food items or a free will donation to the NPHS Food Pantry. There is still time to sign up for your car for the show or be a vendor for the event. To register for the event, scan the QR code in the graphic below. Lunch will be available during the event.&nbsp;

The benefit is being put together to help raise money for the Simpsons family after a devastating house fire that hurt the wife and child. Money will be raised to help the family. Many businesses in the community have donated raffle prizes for the event.&nbsp;&nbsp;

North Platte, Neb. - Fair week is underway for Lincoln County and the Lincoln County Fairgrounds welcome in Lincoln, Logan and McPherson County 4-H'rs all week long to participate in different events. Taking Place Monday at the fairgrounds is the 4-H Livestock Sale with the buyer's lunch beginning at 12:00pm and the sale begins at 1:00pm. The sale will be a premium only.&nbsp;

4-H is America's largest youth development program across the United States that helps learn skills that will last a lifetime. The age requirement for 4-H is the ages of 8-18. Makynzi Smith and younger brother Dracen Smith are preparing to show calves at this year's fair. The pair began preparing for the fair last fall.&nbsp;

Taking Place Monday at the fairgrounds is the 4-H Livestock Sale with the buyer's lunch beginning at 12:00pm and the sale begins at 1:00pm. The sale will be a premium only.&nbsp;</p><figure>

                    </figure><p>4-H is America's largest youth development program across the United States that helps learn skills that will last a lifetime. The age requirement for 4-H is the ages of 8-18. Makynzi Smith and younger brother Dracen Smith are preparing to show calves at this year's fair. North Platte, Neb. - The Bargain Bin in North Platte is a thrift store located at 421 E 3rd St and is a non-profit for the North Platte Catholic Schools. The store is open Monday - Saturday with Monday-Wednesday from 8:00am - 12:00pm for donations and Thursday-Saturday from 10:0am - 3:00pm for operating hours. The Bargain Bin will accept donations Thursday-Saturday during selling hours. The Bargain Bin can be contacted at 308-221-2665.&nbsp;
