Jerry Florer, age 78, of Ogallala, Nebraska passed away of natural causes on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado.

Jerry was born on September 13, 1942 in North Platte, Nebraska to&nbsp; Raymond William Florer and Serina Lena Sorenson.

Jerry graduated for high school in North Platte with the Class of 1963.&nbsp; He then joined the Air Force and was honorably discharged.

Jerry married Iolia B. McQueen on April 19, 1964 in Ogallala, Nebraska.&nbsp; Jerry loved his family and friends, as well as loved to hunt &amp; fish.

Jerry was preceded in death by both his parents: William &amp; Serina Florer of North Platte, Nebraska; and by his sister, Wanda Irene, who died at birth.

He is survived by his wife, Iolia Florer; three daughters ShanDey (Paul) Page of Marietta, Ohio, Carlene (Russell) Minzel of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Kim (Tony) Garrelts of Ogallala, Nebraska; two grandsons Andrew (Tiffany) and Michael; three granddaughters MyKayla (Brandon), Kristine (Nick), and Kelsea; and two great-grandsons Alex and Link.

He was born on January 23, 1955 at Seward, Nebraska to Ervin and Margaret (Tucker) Roth.

Mark is survived by his wife, Janice of North Platte; sons, Christopher (Kerry) Roth of North Platte, NE, Michael (Terra) Roth of Sioux Falls, SD, Jeromy (Angela) Roth of Kodak, TN; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and siblings, Jerry Roth of Garland, NE, Pat (Rod) Luft of Lincoln, NE, Rod (Karen) Roth of Lincoln, NE and Deb Roth of Cheyenne, WY.&nbsp;

Debra Ilene Wiezorek, age 68, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away on October 22, 2020 at home, surrounded by her family.

She was born on August 4, 1952 in North Platte, Nebraska to Clifford and Alberta McCarty and grew up in North Platte, where they made their home.

Debra was united in marriage to Jim Wiezorek on November 28, 1969 in North Platte, Nebraska, where they made their home and celebrated almost 51 years of marriage.

She was a member of the coast Guard Auxiliary with her husband for 5 years.&nbsp; Debra enjoyed going to bingo and playing slot machines.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Debra is survived by her husband, Jim; children, Kenna (Steve) Smith, Mark Wiezorek (Kim Cotton), and Paul (Nikki) Wiezorek; and her beloved grandchildren Megan, Lyndsey and Emily Spurgin, Kelsey and Kaylee Smith, and Sam and Dylan Wiezorek.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister Delores Herold; brother Clifford "Gene" McCarty; grandson Daniel Wiezorek; and a granddaughter Alexis "Lexi" Wiezorek.

A memorial has been established in Debra's name to be designated at a later date.

Dallas W. Nichols, age 63, of North Platte, Nebraska died on October 23, 2020 at home with his family by his side. Dallas was born January 14, 1957 in North Platte to John and Sarah (Pebley) Nichols.

Dallas graduated from North Platte High School with the class of 1976. He served in the United States Army. After being discharged he worked several different jobs, including Simplot in Hershey, Cash-Wa Distributing and Pawnee Hotel in North Platte. He married Cheryl (Collins) Nichols on February 10, 1986.

He is survived by his wife Cheryl Nichols; son, George (Alishia) Nichols; daughter, Victoria Nichols; mother, Sarah Harold of Cozad, Nebraska; stepmother, Angie Nichols of Grand Island, Nebraska; grandchildren, Isabella Borges, Ezekiel Borges, George Nichols, Clifford Nichols, Olivia Borges all of North Platte, NE; brothers, John Nichols of North Platte, Jodi Nichols of Colorado, Brandon Nichols of Colorado, Matthew Nichols of North Platte; sister, Pam Lazzara of North Carolina; brothers-in-law, Jess (Marcia) Collins, Victor (Tami) Collins, Thomas (Rita) Collins; numerous other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Dallas Wayne Nichols  (1957-2020)

Ernest Charles “Chuck” Stille Jr., age 77, of North Platte, Nebraska died October 21, 2020 at home surrounded by family. He was born on November 4, 1942 to Ernest and Minna (Vohs) Stille Sr. in Red Oak, Iowa.

Chuck grew up in Iowa and graduated from High School in Loveland, Colorado. He married Jeanette Wright in Fort Collins, Colorado. Chuck lost Jeanette to cancer in 1989. He learned the plumbing trade from his father-in-law and family and became a master plumber.

Chuck married Janet Cecil in 1990 at Big Thompson Canyon in Colorado. The couple lived in Loveland where he owned and operated Stille Sanitation. They moved to New Raymer, Colorado where they had a ranch and an open-door policy to whoever wanted to come by. The couple moved to North Platte, Nebraska around 2000 where Chuck worked at Briggs Supply and worked with Mastre Homes in Grant, Nebraska, where he did their plumbing.

Chuck loved to fish, camp, and do woodworking. He was very proud of his cattle and loved to work with his tractor. Chuck was very involved with Prairie School by the ranch, he even drove the school bus. Chuck, Janet and the rest of the family loved antiquing, they collected Blue Ridge pottery. He enjoyed helping youth, especially having the young fellas at the ranch.

Chuck was Janet’s hero, as he saved her life.

Survivors include his wife Janet of North Platte, Nebraska; three children, Terri Lynn Earl of Grand Junction, Colorado, Tyler (Kelli) Stille of Tabor, Iowa, Brandon (Tanya) Stille of Loveland, Colorado; grandchildren, Stephanie (Spencer) Linton, Tucker Stille, Jacob Stille, Clayton Stille, Jessica (Stephen) Hren, Benjamin (Heather) Earl, Michaela (Jake) Hoppe; great grandchildren, Kieran Rosenberg, Willow Ferguson, Jackson Hren, Jayden Hren, Oliver Hren; numerous other family members and friends.

Ernest C. "Chuck" Stille  (1942-2020)

William Robert Joseph passed away on October 20, 2020 at his home in Valentine, Nebraska.&nbsp; Known widely as Bill and to many friends and family as Bill Bob, he was a fixture in the local community.&nbsp; Bill was born to John &amp; Gloretta "Toots" Joseph on October 7, 1937 in Valentine, Nebraska. He enjoyed his early years with older siblings Corrine &amp; Jack, graduating from Valentine High School in 1955.

On August 8, 1955 he was married to Betty Mulligan and recently celebrated a 65th anniversary with family.&nbsp; Their marriage was blessed with three children, Debra, Roger &amp; Cindy.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Bill's was a tireless entrepreneur and was faithfully at work at one of his businesses on the morning that preceded his death.&nbsp; Bill worked with his father and brother at the Corner Market grocery at 2nd &amp; Main in Valentine until his partners agreed to his relentless desire to build a new, and larger store on the next block. Success in retail allowed the family to begin ranching, feeding fat cattle &amp; even raising quarter horses.&nbsp; With son, Roger, Bill transformed a property north of town in to a productive feedlot and the duo began to acquire more cattle of their own.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The pressure of the mid-1980s cattle market drove Bill back to town where he found incredible success transforming a condemned hotel and cafe in to the Peppermill Restaurant.&nbsp; Bill &amp; Betty's venture at 1st and Main Street in Valentine quickly became a destination for travelers and local patrons. Bill took great pride in serving beef, as he had now raised cattle, been a butcher in his own market and now presenting steaks that so impressed clientele he was asked to provide T-bones to parties hosted by President Reagan.

Bill built the Comfort Inn with two family friends in 1995 and sold the restaurant to Roger in 1996.&nbsp; In the next 25 years of "retirement" Bill found still worked tirelessly and added to his resume.&nbsp; After working as a host in a Las Vegas restaurant he moved on to one of his most beloved positions, handling donors and ticket sales at UNLV.&nbsp; He would enjoy additional success back home in Valentine as well, turning the old Dunes Motel into the improved, and much larger Econo Lodge Inn &amp; Suites, in addition to being the foreman for the construction of the new Peppermill on Highway 20.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother, father, &amp; brother Jack.&nbsp; 

He is survived by wife Betty, daughter Debra Higgins (Tom), son Roger Joseph (Jayne), and daughter Cindy Galloway (Keven). Surviving grandchildren include Robert Joseph (Lacey), Rachelle Borchers (Jeff), Lacey Hoefs (Dustin), and Brandon Bennett.&nbsp; Great-grandchildren, the love of Bill's life, included Blake and Halle Borchers, Kylee Hoefs, and Cruz and Lennon Joseph and sister Corinne Tangeman (Larry)

William R. Joseph was uncommonly motivated, a laser-focused perfectionist, and employed outstanding vision in his business ventures, yet was often and easily moved to tears by the things that mattered to him most.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Graveside service for Bill Joseph, age 83 of Valentine will be held on Monday, October 26, 2020 at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Valentine at 11:00 AM.&nbsp; Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Valentine.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Roger Lee Jensen, age 70 of Dunning, Nebraska passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at the Jennie M Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow, Nebraska.

Roger was born March 11, 1950 in Anselmo, Nebraska to Raymond Wallace and Lois (Glause) Jensen.

Roger attended school in Anselmo, Mullen, Hildreth, and Kearney, graduating from Kearney High School.

On January 2, 1968 Roger married LaDonna Meadow, and to this union a daughter Tami was born, LaDonna passed away October 13, 1999. On July 23, 2001 Roger married Vickey Coffman in Kearney, Nebraska. Roger and Vickey made their home in Dunning, and loved the sandhills area. Roger enjoyed fishing and visiting with his many friends.

Roger is survived by wife Vickey (Coffman) Jensen of Dunning, daughter Tami (Jim) Thompson of Kearney, granddaughter Kristen (John) Orlowski of Madison, grandson Geoff, two great grandchildren Elayna and Collin, and a sister Jennifer Nakazawa.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents Raymond Wallace and Lois (Glause) Jensen, first wife LaDonna, a great-grandson John Thomas Orlowski IV, two brothers Raymond and Gary, and a sister Jeane.

Mary Harmon  (1939-2020)

Verna Cecilia Kellogg, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away at home surrounded&nbsp;by her family on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at the age of 95. Verna was born January 31, 1925, to John and Mary Goonan in Greeley, Nebraska.&nbsp; She attended Sacred Heart School in Greeley for 12 years, graduating from high school in 1943, as valedictorian of her class.&nbsp; She then accepted a secretarial position with the U.S. Federal Government at the Grand Island Air Force Base. In June of 1946, her work transferred her to Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio, where she was secretary to the Chief Executive Officer of the Flight Test Division.&nbsp; This position involved recording by shorthand and transcribing many top secret meetings of a highly technical and newsworthy nature.&nbsp; During these years, Verna had the opportunity to work with many interesting and highly honored military personnel, including Captains Chuck Yeager and Glen Edwards.&nbsp; Capt Yeager made the historic flight of breaking the sound barrier in an X-1 research rocket plane at Muroc Air Force Base in California. Capt Edwards, a test pilot, was killed in the crash of a new, experimental aircraft, "The Flying Wing", at Muroc Air Force Base.&nbsp; The base was later renamed, Edwards Air Force Base in his honor.&nbsp; Both Captains were friends of Verna's, having a working relationship on a daily basis.&nbsp; Verna was proud of the years she worked at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. In 1949, Verna resigned her position to return to her hometown of Grand Island, then accepted a position as secretary to the Commanding Officer at Kearney Air Force Base until it closed. She then transferred to Bergstrom Air Force Base, Austin, Texas, where she held a temporary position as secretary to the Base Adjutant. After a few months, she returned home and became reacquainted with longtime friend, Don Kellogg, and they had a whirlwind courtship of three months.&nbsp; They married at St. Mary's Cathedral in Grand Island, Nebraska on&nbsp;November 26, 1949.&nbsp; The couple moved to North Platte, Nebraska in 1953 with their&nbsp;three young children and later welcomed five more children.&nbsp;&nbsp; Verna was&nbsp;a stay-at-home mother and homemaker for the following 11 years. She went back to work for the U.S. Federal Government in 1964, working in the newly built Federal Building in North Platte. She worked for the General Services Administration for 12 years then transferred to the IRS for another 12 years.&nbsp; Verna retired in 1988 having completed 30 years with the Federal Government. Verna had a strong Catholic faith.&nbsp; She was an active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church for over 30 years, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton for 15 years and was currently a member of Holy Spirit.&nbsp; Don and Verna's faith also guided their four boys and four girls to complete 12 years of education at St. Patrick's Catholic School.&nbsp; A Catholic education for their children was most important to Verna and Don. Over the years, Verna was secretary for St. Patrick's Boy Scout Troup, assistant leader for the Blue Birds Club, a member of the Altar Society, St. Patrick's School Board as well as the Eagles and Elks Clubs.&nbsp; Verna belonged to several bridge clubs and she and Don belonged to a poker club with their longtime friends for over 60 years.&nbsp; For the past several years, her favorite pastime was attending dances at the Senior Center, Eagles and Elks, sometimes dancing two or three times a week. Verna's children and their families were always an important part of her life.&nbsp; She looked forward to the many family get-together occasions to celebrate birthdays, weddings, holidays and family reunions.&nbsp; She and Don were devoted parents who took pride in their eight children, at one point having 6 children ages 7 and under.&nbsp; Verna was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who had a passion for her faith and dancing and&nbsp;lived life to the fullest. Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Don, and daughter, Julie Buehler; parents, John and Mary Goonan; infant brother, William; sister, Mary Ellen and husband, Holly 'Jack' Donohue; brother-in-law, Charles and wife, Jean Gallagher; and son-in-law, Duane Beck. Patricia Anne 'Patsy' Vigil, of North Platte, passed away at home with her husband by her side on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at the age of 79. Pat was born June 21, 1941, in Shelby, Montana, to Lloyd and Evelyn (Lohr) Hellinger.&nbsp; She graduated from Shelby High School in 1959 then went to beauty school in Denver, Colorado.&nbsp; Pat continued living in the Denver&nbsp;area where she got married, raised three children, and worked as a&nbsp;florist for 30 years. In 1992 Pat met Dave Vigil and they were married on July 9, 1993, in Arvada, Coloraado then made their home in North Platte, Nebraska.&nbsp; They enjoyed traveling and&nbsp;RV'ing together.&nbsp; Pat liked fine arts, plays, musicals and was an&nbsp;artist.&nbsp; She was good at painting and enjoyed teaching kids how to&nbsp;paint.&nbsp; She was also a member of the Prairie Art Center.&nbsp; Pat loved her&nbsp;family, especially her grandchildren near and far. Patricia Anne 'Patsy' Vigil  (1941-2020)

Donnie Joe Pool, age 62, of Overton, Nebraska passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 19, 2020 at his home.

Donnie Joe was born January 16, 1958, at Kearney, Nebraska to Donnie and Delores (Warta) Pool. Donnie received his education from Overton Public Schools, graduating from Overton High School with the class of 1976. Following graduation, Donnie started working for System Buildings in Lexington, Nebraska. He then spent the next thirty plus years working for Overton Sand and Gravel.

Donnie was united in marriage to Cheryl Lynn Carlson on May 21, 1983 in Overton. The couple was blessed with one son, Christopher. They made their home south of Overton. Their marriage would later end in divorce.

He was very artistic and was a talented drawer. He never would admit it, but Donnie loved animals, especially his dogs, Missy and Diego. Donnie was an avid reader and faithful listener to KRVN. He had a dry sense of humor and loved his cold beer. In his younger years, he enjoyed nice cars.

Donnie Joe leaves to celebrate his life, his son, Christopher (Sharon) Pool of Lexington, NE; step-daughter, Amanda (Nick) Haussler of Overton, NE; three grandchildren, Dylan, Isaac and Alyssa; three brothers, Gene Pool of Sultan, Washington, Cliff (Shelly) Pool of Swisher, Iowa and Dale (Cyndi) Pool of New Hartford, Iowa; three sisters, Laura Reinick of Elwood, Cindy (Jason) Crockett of St. John, Kansas and Tammie (Paul) Reinick of Lincoln; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Donnie received his education from Overton Public Schools, graduating from Overton High School with the class of 1976. Following graduation, Donnie started working for System Buildings in Lexington, Nebraska. He then spent the next thirty plus years working for Overton Sand and Gravel.Donnie was united in marriage to Cheryl Lynn Carlson on May 21, 1983 in Overton. The couple was blessed with one son, Christopher. They made their home south of Overton. Their marriage would later end in divorce.He was very artistic and was a talented drawer. He never would admit it, but Donnie loved animals, especially his dogs, Missy and Diego. Donnie was an avid reader and faithful listener to KRVN. He had a dry sense of humor and loved his cold beer. Rick L. Hite, age 63, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died October 20, 2020 in Gothenburg, NE.&nbsp;&nbsp;

He was born May 30, 1957 in Gothenburg, NE , son of Stanley Lee and Shirley Ann (Aden) Hite.

Rick attended elementary school and graduated from Gothenburg High School with the class of 1975.&nbsp; He played football for Gothenburg while in school.&nbsp; &nbsp;After graduation he owned and drove his own truck, and also drove for NSG (Nebraska Salt &amp; Grain), CO-OP and for Midwest Transport Company.

Rick married Esther "Chico"&nbsp; Garcia&nbsp; on August 15, 1981 in Gothenburg, NE, and was very proud of his three sons.&nbsp; Rick worked for the Dawson County Sheriffs Office in Lexington, NE&nbsp; for 19 years.&nbsp; He received the&nbsp; "Medal of Valor" from the Dawson County Sheriff Office.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Rick enjoyed hunting season and especially deer, duck and geese.&nbsp; He took pride in teaching his children and grandchildren how to hunt.&nbsp; He loved to watch Nebraska Football and riding his Harley, and watching wrestling.

Marguerite E. Stewart, age 84, of McCook, NE passed away at Hillcrest Caring Center on Monday, October 19, 2020.

Marguerite was born December 3, 1935 in Williamsport, PA to parents Roy and Marguerite (Decker) Downey.

On June 17, 1955, Marguerite married James Stewart in Williamsport.&nbsp; Seven children were born to the union.&nbsp; Over the years, Marguerite worked as a medical transcriptionist.&nbsp; In 2013, she moved to the McCook community to be near her son, Steve.

A private family inurnment will take place at a later date in Gilman City, MO.

Anna May “Anne” Baxter, age 93, of North Platte, Nebraska departed this life on October 20, 2020, at Linden Court in North Platte.

Anne was born on February 9, 1927 to John and Bertha Schumacher Stewart at Edgar, NE. She grew up in Edgar, where her father was a dentist, then a pharmacist. After losing her father to leukemia when she was 11 years old, she and her brothers helped their mother in the Rexall Drug Store that her family owned. She always spoke fondly of her upbringing with her three older brothers in Edgar, which was a thriving small town with an outstanding business community, fed in part by the presence of both the Union Pacific and Burlington Northern Railroads.

Starting in the eighth grade, Anne played organ for six years for the Presbyterian Church in Edgar, where she also sang in the choir. After graduating as valedictorian from Edgar High School, Anne attended Doane College in Crete, NE, where she played in the drum corps. She taught school for one year in Superior, NE and then headed to University of Nebraska in Lincoln, where she studied Home Economics at the Ag College on East Campus. She met her future husband, Neal Baxter, at a church event near the UNL campus and they became better acquainted when they both sang in the 2nd&nbsp;Presbyterian Church choir.

On June 11, 1950 Anne and Neal were married in Edgar and spent their first year of married life in Lexington, NE, where Neal was Assistant Dawson County Extension Agent and Anne taught fourth grade at Bryan Elementary School. They then moved to North Platte for Neal to become the Lincoln County Extension Agent and to begin raising their family. They made their permanent home in North Platte, other than in 1966, when they moved their family to Madison, WI for Neal to earn his master’s degree. That year, Anne became involved in a research project that involved teaching “New Math” to 6th&nbsp;graders.

While in North Platte, Anne and Neal were very active in their First Presbyterian Church, where they both sang in the choir and served as state skippers for Mariners and as sponsors for senior high youth fellowship. Anne was active in Extension Club, Home Ec Club, and PEO and made many close friendships through her involvement in those organizations. In 1975, Anne briefly returned to Lincoln to complete her degree, after which she was a substitute teacher, covering K thru High School in every school in town.

Anne was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, while also finding time to give back to her church and community. She helped organize the North Platte Genealogical Society and served as its first president. She also chaired the Playground Committee for the Storyland Zoo, a Rotary project. She and her husband Neal enjoyed many memorable trips together, many of which were to foreign countries. Anne will always be remembered as a loving and loyal friend to many, looking for the positive in any situation, and looking to share her gift of humor with others whenever given the opportunity.

Anne is survived by her four sons, Stewart (Lisa) of North Platte, Kim (Nancy) of North Platte, Brian of North Platte, and Paul of North Platte; grandson Logan (Alison) Baxter and granddaughter Haley Baxter of Kearney; granddaughter Mikaela (David) Meagher of Lincoln; granddaughter Elizabeth (Monte) Williams of Charlotte, NC and grandson Brandon Baxter of Hastings; great-granddaughter Eloise Marie Meagher; two nephews and three nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband Neal, her parents, her brothers William (Grechen) Stewart, Paul (Molly) Stewart and Frank (Suzy) Stewart; and her grandson Craig Baxter.

Graveside services for family and burial will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 23, 2020 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, Nebraska. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 22, 2020, noon to 8:00 PM at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home at 421 West 4th&nbsp;Street. Timothy F. Eisenrich, 49, of North Platte, Nebraska, formerly of Rockford, Illinois, died October 17, 2020.

Timothy was born November 06, 1970, in Rockford, IL to Norbert F Eisenrich and LaVonne Nyen. He graduated from Boylan Catholic High School in 1989 then entered the US Marine Corp in 1990. Tim served in the Gulf War and Somalia. After his honorable discharge in 1994, he returned to Rockford. He married Edith Newsome on February 24, 2000 in the Turks and Caicos Islands. The couple lived in Illinois, Wyoming and settled in North Platte.

Survivors include his parents; Norbert and LaVonne Eisenrich, Rockford IL, his wife Edith of North Platte, 3 children; Isabelle Eisenrich, Audrey Eisenrich and Lily Eisenrich all of North Platte, step-daughter; Samantha (Britton) Seivert, Chicago, IL, siblings; Kathleen Kaufman, Niles, IL, Nancy Eisenrich, Rockford, IL, Troy (Michelle) Eisenrich, Sun Prairie, WI, Tom (Nicole) Eisenrich, Rockford, IL and Nicole Eisenrich, Lake in the Hills, IL; along with several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Timothy F. Eisenrich  (1970-2020)

Ronald John Andrus passed away on October 17, 2020 at Sanford Health Care Center in Vermillion, South Dakota with his wife, Karen, by his side.&nbsp; Ron was born to John and Ruth (Schrunk) Andrus on September 8, 1940 in Atkinson, Nebraska.&nbsp; He had an older brother Ralph and a younger sister Karen (Ormesher).&nbsp; He attended Atkinson High School and graduated in May of 1958.

On June 9, 1962, Ron married Karen Bachelor of Valentine, Nebraska.&nbsp; They were married for 58 years and were blessed with two children, Kim and John.

Ron's primary career was with the Nebraska Brand Committee in Brown County.&nbsp; He worked with the state for 35 years and checked thousands of brands for ownership during that time.&nbsp; Ron covered Brown County, Nebraska, but would frequently get calls to other counties in the area.&nbsp; He greatly enjoyed working with the ranchers and the cattle industry.

Ron's passions included traveling, hunting, cheering on the Huskers, and being outdoors.&nbsp; His travels included three trips to Hawaii and four trips to Alaska.&nbsp; He did a lot of deer, turkey and antelope hunting with his son, John.&nbsp; He was probably most well known for his random acts of kindness which earned him the Nebraska Good Neighbor Award in 1989.&nbsp; He donated a lot of his time to helping his neighbors by doing various tasks such as mowing lawns, hauling trash, and cutting firewood.&nbsp; He did all these things for people with no expectations.&nbsp; Ron just enjoyed helping others.&nbsp; His greatest joy in life were his grandchildren and great grandchildren.&nbsp; Ron and Karen have seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, soon to be ten!

Ron is survived by his wife, Karen, of Valentine, Nebraska; his daughter, Kim (Leonard) Appleman of Johnstown, Nebraska; his son, John (Twyla) Andrus of Yankton, South Dakota; grandchildren Jamie (Luke) Bisbee, Jeff (Heaven) Appleman, Katie (Evan) Winters, Ciara (Ryan) Lammers, Rylie Andrus, Bryson Andrus, and Jaden Appleman; great grandchildren Isaac, Natalie, Owen, Blakelee, Brinlee, Johnna, Mason, Blake, and Preston; and his sister, Karen (Richard) Ormesher of Valentine, Nebraska.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ralph.

 </figure>Ronald John Andrus passed away on October 17, 2020 at Sanford Health Care Center in Vermillion, South Dakota with his wife, Karen, by his side.&nbsp; Ron was born to John and Ruth (Schrunk) Andrus on September 8, 1940 in Atkinson, Nebraska.&nbsp; He had an older brother Ralph and a younger sister Karen (Ormesher).&nbsp; He attended Atkinson High School and graduated in May of 1958.On June 9, 1962, Ron married Karen Bachelor of Valentine, Nebraska.&nbsp; They were married for 58 years and were blessed with two children, Kim and John.Ron's primary career was with the Nebraska Brand Committee in Brown County.&nbsp; He worked with the state for 35 years and checked thousands of brands for ownership during that time.&nbsp; Ron covered Brown County, Nebraska, but would frequently get calls to other counties in the area.&nbsp; He greatly enjoyed working with the ranchers and the cattle industry.Ron's passions included traveling, hunting, cheering on the Huskers, and being outdoors.&nbsp; His travels included three trips to Hawaii and four trips to Alaska.&nbsp; He did a lot of deer, turkey and antelope hunting with his son, John.&nbsp; He was probably most well known for his random acts of kindness which earned him the Nebraska Good Neighbor Award in 1989.&nbsp; He donated a lot of his time to helping his neighbors by doing various tasks such as mowing lawns, hauling trash, and cutting firewood.&nbsp; He did all these things for people with no expectations.&nbsp; Ron just enjoyed helping others.&nbsp; His greatest joy in life were his grandchildren and great grandchildren.&nbsp; Ron and Karen have seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, soon to be ten!Ron is survived by his wife, Karen, of Valentine, Nebraska; his daughter, Kim (Leonard) Appleman of Johnstown, Nebraska; his son, John (Twyla) Andrus of Yankton, South Dakota; grandchildren Jamie (Luke) Bisbee, Jeff (Heaven) Appleman, Katie (Evan) Winters, Ciara (Ryan) Lammers, Rylie Andrus, Bryson Andrus, and Jaden Appleman; great grandchildren Isaac, Natalie, Owen, Blakelee, Brinlee, Johnna, Mason, Blake, and Preston; and his sister, Karen (Richard) Ormesher of Valentine, Nebraska.Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ralph.Graveside services for Ron Andrus, age 80, of Valentine, Nebraska will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine.&nbsp; Public visitation will be on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at Sandoz Chapel of the Pines in Valentine.&nbsp;

Jean Marlene Atkins age 73 of Broken Bow, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the Callaway good Life Center in Callaway, Nebraska.

Marlene was born in Maryville, Missouri to Leland and Colene (Ridlon) Bohart of Maitland, Missouri on April 14, 1947.&nbsp; She was joined a few years later by a sister named Vickie.&nbsp; She grew up on the family farm near Maitland and graduated from Nodaway-Holt High School in 1965.&nbsp; She attended one year of college at Tarkio College in Tarkio, Missouri.

Marlene married the local renegade, Maurice Atkins, on April 2, 1966.&nbsp; Maurice had been drafted into the army and was soon to be stationed in West Germany.&nbsp; Marlene joined him there in August of 1966 and a son, J.B., was born to them while stationed there on active duty.&nbsp; Upon fulfilling Maurice’s obligation to the US Army, they returned to Maitland in November of 1967.

The Atkins family moved to Fairfax, Missouri in December of 1968 where two more sons joined them – Aaron in 1970 and Ryan in 1973.&nbsp; While in the Fairfax community, both Marlene and Maurice rededicated their lives to Christ at the Fairfax Baptist Church.&nbsp; They farmed at Fairfax until 1979 when they moved to a purchased farm at Barnard, Missouri.&nbsp; They moved their membership at the Fairfax Baptist Church to the Laura Street Baptist Church in Maryville, Missouri.

As Marlene’s children graduated from school, she began taking classes in computer operations at VoTech in Maryville MO.&nbsp; These classes prepared her for the transition from fulltime mom to fulltime employment.&nbsp; Upon graduation, she went to work at a doctor’s office in Maryville MO.&nbsp; She later went to work at another doctor’s office in Mound City MO and followed that employment with a job at the Maitland Farmers Bank in Maitland MO, as a teller.

As grandchildren began to arrive, Marlene became more involved in their lives.&nbsp; Eventually moving to Broken Bow NE, with Maurice, to be closer to her favorite grandchildren (inside family joke) Sterling and Jayde Atkins, son and daughter of J.B. and Sonya Atkins.&nbsp; She began her new life in Broken Bow as a para at Broken Bow Public Schools where she could see her grandchildren almost every day.&nbsp; She eventually took a job with the County Assessor’s office where she met her new best friend – Judy Taylor.&nbsp; Marlene’s kind-hearted behavior helped her make friends throughout the county courthouse.&nbsp; Marlene and Maurice also began attending the Berean Church while in Broken Bow where they were able to attend the baptism of both Sterling and Jayde which meant a lot to Marlene.

Marlene retired from the Assessor’s office in June of 2015.&nbsp; She was able to fill in the gaps with travels to her grandchildren in Missouri – Kaitlyn and Megan from Aaron and Cathy Atkins, and Ashlee Atkins from Ryan and Janet Atkins as well as step-grandsons Jeremy and Eric Gabelmann.&nbsp; These trips included lots of softball games as well as dance recitals and the always exciting Christmas get-togethers with both families.&nbsp; Marlene was also very active within the Berean Bible Church of Broken Bow.&nbsp; She was a great witness for Jesus and lived her life as an example of such.

Marlene enjoyed traveling in her retirement.&nbsp; She particularly loved traveling through the mountains.&nbsp; She peacefully passed to God’s kingdom at Callaway Good Life Center on October 17, 2020.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at the Berean Bible Church in Broken Bow with Pastor Tyce Jensen and Pastor Larry DeMoss officiating. Burial will follow in the Broken Bow Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Broken Bow EMT’s.

Louise Clark, age 80, of Broken Bow, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the CHI Health St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island, Nebraska.

Martha Louise (Sears) Clark was born on January 4, 1940 at Broken Bow, Nebraska, the second child and only daughter of Edwin L. and Teddie Mae Emerson Sears.

She graduated from Broken Bow High School with the Class of 1958.&nbsp; On August 8, 1959, she was married to Darrell D. Clark at the EUB Church in Broken Bow.&nbsp; They were blessed with two daughters - Sue Jean and AMy Louise.&nbsp; Darrell and Louise divorced in 1974.

In 1969, she began working as the secretary to the high school principal at Broken Bow Public Schools, and later became the secretary for the Superintendent of Schools, where she continued to work until her retirement in October of 2000.

Louise loved to cook, especially for family dinners.&nbsp; Her wonderful meals will be missed.&nbsp; She loved sewing, making doll clothes for her great granddaughters, embroidery, and making crafts of all kinds.

Louise is survived by her daughters Susan J. (Tom) Horky and Amy L. (Randy) White; grandchildren Randi Mae White, and Joshua Lee (Kayla) White; great-granddaughters Addison Claire Dunbar and Sophiah Lee White; brothers Kenneth L. Sears of Cottage Grove, Oregon and David B. Sears (Connie) of Wickenburg, Arizona; nephews Kimo (Penny) Sears, Keith (Barb) Sears all of Crewsell, Oregon, Robert (Jodi) Sears of Spokane, Washington; and her niece Jacque D. Sears of Burr, Nebraska and great nieces and nephews.

Louise Clark  (1940-2020)

Mary Lynn Callen, age 76, passed away peacefully Monday, October 19, 2020 at Aspyre Memory Care in Ft. Collins, Colorado with her family by her side, after a courageous eleven year battle with Alzheimer's Disease.  Mary Lynn endured this disease with grace and dignity. Her family feels at peach knowing she is now with her Lord and Savior.

Mary Lynn was born on April 7, 1944, to Lenore and Gerald Schwentker in North Platte, Nebraska She grew up in Ogallala, Nebraska and attended Ogallala High School, graduating in 1962. While growing up, Mary Lynn participated in band, vocal music, high school musicals, cheerleading, and as a senior she was awarded the Ramsey/Bueoy/Kildare/Holscher trophy, which is given to an outstanding senior. Mary Lynn began college at KU, before transferring to UNL her junior year. She was a member of the Chi Omega sorority at both universities. Mary Lynn graduated in May of 1966 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. After graduation, Mary Lynn returned to Ogallala, as she had become engaged to her high school sweetheart, Larry Callen. They were married on July 3, 1966. Mary Lynn taught elementary school in Ogallala before having their 3 children: Cheri, Chris, and Mike.

Mary Lynn was a dedicated wife and mother and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed watching her kids in their many activities and was always quick to support and encourage her family in any way she could. Mary Lynn had a positive personality, warm and genuine character, was very trusting, accepting and was most cordial to everyone she met. Mary Lynn loved music and was a gifted pianist. Her favorite times were when she had her family all together.

Mary Lynn loved volunteering and being involved within her community. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, serving with the music ministry by being both the choir and bell choir director for periods of time. She was also a member of Methodist Women and was a Sunday School teacher. Mary Lynn served as secretary of the Board of Director’s of the First National Bank in Ogallala for over 30 years. She was a founding member of the Ogallala Regional Arts Council and enjoyed helping to bring the arts to the community of Ogallala. She served as President for this organization and also held other office titles as well. Mary Lynn also served in the role of President, and other offices, within P.E.O., where she was a member for 58 years. She was always eager to make Ogallala a better place to live.&nbsp;

Mary Lynn and Larry moved from Ogallala in 2005. Together they spent time in Palm Desert, CA, Tucson, AZ and Surprise, AZ before settling in Windsor, CO in 2014. Even though she lived in multiple places after 2005, Mary Lynn always considered Ogallala home. Mary Lynn was blessed with several friend groups from living in different areas of the country. Mary Lynn loved to entertain and was always a gracious hostess. She loved all the domestic and foreign travels she was able to do with Larry, family and lifelong friends. Mary Lynn always had a positive outlook on life even when times were difficult with her disease. She did her best to stay connected with others before Alzheimer’s took so much away.

One of her greatest joys in life was watching her children become parents of their own. Mary Lynn cherished playing the role of Nana to her six grandchildren, who range in age from 3 to 21. She was often seen wearing dress up clothes with the kids, teaching her grandchildren to bake or giving them way too much ice cream and sweets. She also loved playing the piano with her grandchildren, taking walks with them, and telling stories around a fire pit. The role of Nana was an important one to her and was one that brought her much joy.&nbsp;

Mary Lynn is survived by Larry, her husband of 54 years, daughters, Cheri Stevens (Dave) of Omaha, Chris Stalder (Geoff) of Windsor, CO and son, Mike Callen (Cherise) of Lincoln, and six grandchildren; Shelby and Jenna Stevens, Emma and Luke Stalder and Cora and Owen Callen.&nbsp; She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Ann Boesiger of Bartlesville, OK, brother and sister-in-laws Jim and Mary Callen of Nebraska City, and Max and Jean Callen of Lincoln, as well nieces, nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lenore and Gerald Schwentker, her mother-in-law, Ethel Callen, brother-in-law, Dwight Boesiger and nephews, Mark and Sean Boesiger.

A Memorial Book Signing will be held Thursday, October 22, 2020 from 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. (MT) in the Draucker Funeral Home Chapel in Ogallala, Nebraska.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 23, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. (MT) in the First United Methodist Church of Ogallala with Rev. Chuck Rager officiating.

Interment will be held in the Ogallala Cemetery.&nbsp;&nbsp;

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be directed to the First United Methodist Church in Ogallala, the Keith County Community Foundation, the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Ogallala Regional Arts Council.

COVID-19 precautions are still being followed and masks are recommended.

Emily Hartman  (1935-2020)

JoDee K. (Davenport) Kimball, passed away on October 18, 2020 at her home in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was born December 20, 1962 to James and Sherry (Hircock) Davenport in North Platte, the fourth of nine children.&nbsp; She attended school in Arnold, Nebraska and was a 1981 graduate of Arnold High School.

JoDee spent her early years on the family farm near Arnold with her brothers and sisters taking care of the farm and large garden.&nbsp; Keeping the tree strips cleaned up and irrigating were some of her favorite chores. She also enjoyed riding her horse, Comanche, helping with the AI breeding program, and participating in numerous 4-H activities.&nbsp; In high school, one of her favorite classes was art and she loved creating beautiful landscape paintings.

JoDee married Tom Kimball shortly after graduating from high school and they had one child together, Bridget. She lived in Columbus for the past several years and recently moved to Lincoln to be closer to her family.&nbsp; She dedicated the last 15 years of her life to working for BD in Columbus and took great pride in her work.

One of JoDee’s greatest joys was the time she spent with her grandsons, enjoying teaching them about the planets, hunting for bugs, and playing games. The boys loved spending time with their “Grammy”.&nbsp; One of her favorite stories to tell is about her grandson, Langsten, pointing to her cherry tomato plants and saying “ball”!&nbsp;

JoDee had quite a green thumb, often giving her less gardening inclined sisters much appreciated words of growing wisdom.&nbsp; She spent many years growing flowers and especially enjoyed helping her Grandma Hircock in her gigantic garden.&nbsp; She even continued to garden this past summer growing a variety of vegetables in tubs.

Another of JoDee’s talents was her ability to create delicious meals.&nbsp; She was always guaranteed to be signed up to make scalloped corn at family holiday gatherings.&nbsp; Recently, she purchased a smoker and made some fantastic steaks and ribs to share with her family.

JoDee also enjoyed spending time in nature.&nbsp; Many fun times were had fishing with family at multiple lakes, including Merritt Reservoir near Valentine.&nbsp; As a young mother, she took pride in hunting and providing venison for her family.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

JoDee was preceded in death by her parents, James and Sherry Davenport; her grandparents, Darrel and Freda (Bowers) Hircock, Orville and Mary Davenport, and grandmother Lola (Bean) Davenport; brother, Michael Davenport; and nephew, Andrew Claymon.

Left to cherish the memories she gave us are her daughter, Bridget (Leslie IV) Anthony; her grandsons, Leslie V and Langsten; former spouse, Tom Kimball; her siblings, Julie (Randy) Bailar, Jeani Davenport, Joni Claymon, Dan Davenport, Jennifer (Jeff) Drey, Jimmy Davenport, and Jacque (Ryan) Porter, many nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.

Memorials, in JoDee’s honor, may be sent to the JoDee K. Kimball Memorial Fund at Pinnacle Bank in Arnold.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 23, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Agnes Catholic Church in Arnold, NE with Father Thomas Gudipalli officiating. Ilene Helen Watson, age 78, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away, Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Linden Court in North Platte.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; Ilene was born February 20, 1942 in Loup City, Nebraska to Henry and Dora (Schultz) Hawley.

Ilene attended school in Arcadia, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Royce Watson in Loup City, Nebraska making their home there for several years. They moved to Grand Island, Nebraska and Columbus, Nebraska until moving to Ogallala, Nebraska in 1976. In 1984 they moved to Chappell, Nebraska and worked for TRW then ASC for over 30 years.
